I would highly recommend this tour. The guide was friendly, interesting and knowledgeable and the scenery amazing! At 3 hours it was just about the right length for someone like me who didn't have the time or money to do a full day/ multiple day tour. A great introduction to glacier hiking.

We were in Iceland in November so it was a bit quieter than peak season so our group was a good size (8 I think). The guide was informative and made sure that you are kitted out with all the right equipment. He allowed plenty of time for photographs (even offering to take some for us and recommending backgrounds) and questions. For me it was just the right amount of time on the ice and we were lucky enough to get to walk through an ice tunnel and an ice crater. A bargain for the experience that you receive so would definately recommend.

very nice and competent guide. We chose a timeslot which only the 2 of us had booked, and IMG did not ask to change anything. We then had a guide for only both of us, instead of being in a big group. Perfect guiding and explanations, it was a wonderful experience.

I booked the glacier walk tour which set up from Reykjavik. I waited for so long time in front of the hostel, because the driver didn't know where and who he should pick up. The reception of the hostel tried to help us call the tour company, but nobody answer the phone call in the morning( May it was too early). Finally we found a bus kept going around the road, we asked the driver " Are you the driver of mountain guide", he said no, and he didn't where he should go. He still picked us up, and dramatically he was exactly the driver who should pick us up...although he did not belong to mountain guide company. Anyway the glacier walk was still vary good, and the tour guide speak English clearly. We had a lot of fun!! But I think the they need to improve the communication between tour company and transport company.

We joined the volcano hiking tour organized by the company. The guides were yong but experienced. Everything was good except the weather........ But we were picked up by public bus to Skogar only after a 8 hours trip, we were totally wet at that moment..... I paid a lot and really prefer a point-to-point tour bus to pick us up.............

Can't forget this experience whEn I walk on the ice!!!!

Wife and I had a great time! Excellent guides and beautiful scenery.

IMG provided just the type of vacation/adventure we were looking for. Everything from beginning to end was handled. Our guide created a fun atmosphere throughout the trip. This wasn't an easy tour as half were French and the other half of the group spoke English so she had to do the whole tour twice. It would have been helpful to have more information about what a day would be like before hand. I didn't have a feel for what to expect each day in regards to how far we would hike. But overall each day had a different adventure, outstanding scenery and was a great way to get a feel for the country.

My friends and I are so happy that we join this trip. Because of your explanation during the trip, we realize how the glacier is composed, why its color is blue, and what the beauty and danger inside. What a lucky we didn't miss, and we hope to snow next time. :)

The tour was wonderful! We were under a layer of fog, but the tour guide made the hike enjoyable. He told us some interesting facts, spent time to make sure we were safe, and gave us enough time to enjoy where we were instead of speeding us along.

great experience

IMG33 Kingdom of Volcanoes and Glaciers trip was much as advertised by the tour company. The back country Hotel Geirland was clean but the meals on offer were uninspiring. The water pressure was low and the supply of hot water was poor to non-existent during our stay. For the price charged, the Hotel should provide a higher standard for food preparation and should improve the water delivery to the rooms. The tour guide was enthusiastic and capable, adapting well to route changes on the fly due to weather and road conditions. One day's plan required significant revision and I believe the guide should have received more support from the IMG office in formulating the new plan. Some members of the group appeared to be poorly prepared for the modest level of physical activity required for the trip and chose not to participate in certain activities. Other hikes were modified for the whole group in order to accommodate the less confident participants. Not sure how that can be improved other than by better screening of participants. Overall, the IMG33 was a great introduction to the south-east coastal region of Iceland and offered insight into the area for future self-directed visits.

We did the Galcier hike and Northern Lights excursion with James in November of 2014 and it was a GREAT time!! We really didn't know what to expect, but for someone like me coming off of a knee fracture with limited recent activity I was able to tolerate it and keep up (at least 97% of the time!). I felt safe the entire time despite the fact that I always injure myself. Only fell once on the glacier when my crampons loosened - but a great bruise and swelling became the highlight of my souvenirs and an excellent story for the future. We didn't see any Northern Lights, but James really tried hard to make it happen for us. Hands down I would do a trip with Icelandic Mountain Guides again!! Highly recommended!

We went on two glacier walks with Icelandic Mountain Guides, and on both the guides were patient & adaptable to the needs and abilities of all members of the group, and understanding and accommodating when we were late to one walk. They shared a lot of amazing information and were helpful answering questions via email before we arrived in Iceland.

Very efficient and provide the service as advertised. We enjoyed the glacier walk and appreciate the efforts of the guide to explain the glaciers.

The guide was very knowledgeable and offered lots of explanations. Most likely will come back for another trip.
