She was so rude and shouting at us, we paid for service, didn't pay to be insulted!

I had a great day out on this tour. It was a long excursion aboard a minibus but there were plenty of stops to stretch your legs. The weather hampered some of the views and prevented viewing of the northern lights, but otherwise the trip was fantastic. The guide gave an interesting and informative commentary, and was very helpful and friendly. The equipment for the glacier walking was provided. The meal in the evening was simple but delicious and plentiful. The waterfalls that we visited en route were spectacular. I would recommend this trip, but would advise that it might be best enjoyed during longer daylight hours to make the most of the time on the glacier and to enjoy the views!

I can thoroughly recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides! My family went on a glacier walk on Svinfellsjokull in April, we were inexperienced and have three children of 9, 11 and 15 years old. We were given a full and comprehensive safety briefing, the equipment was fitted and checked and we were able to take part in the best experience of our holiday, a three hour walk on the glacier in brilliant sunshine, with the most fantastic and helpful guide who really knew his stuff! We booked on the Internet with no prior knowledge of the company, but received excellent service and have no reservations in recommending this company for any of their excursions.

Our guide (Thirsten?) was extremely knowledgeable about the glacier and competent to get us across safely. One of the best parts of our trip to Iceland!

We had an enjoyable time on the tour we participated in May 2014. We saw many amazing aspects of Iceland and would love to go back and see more of the beautiful countryside. The bus driver was excellent, as was the hiking guide. There were a few small challenges which affected the overall rating of the experience. -- The hotel we stayed at during the tour was not in keeping with the price paid for the tour. While the setting was spectacular, our unit rarely had any hot water for showers.(others did not seem to have this problem, but it was never rectified during our stay). The meals were ok, protein components good, but the vegetables were always very overcooked and were the same at every dinner. --The company should do a better job of suitability of the guests to the tour chosen. We had quite a few folks who were not up to the level suggested, and this made it challenging for the guide(who was always friendly and professional), and for those who anticipated a more athletic experience. --The day that was supposed to be the volcano tour(road inaccessible due to snow) was for the most part lackluster, seemed like last minute scrambling to put something together, not up to expectations, but the canyon walk portion of the day was fabulous. --the guide was not always well versed on some aspects of the tour content, ie the last day hike to the warm river for swimming, the guide was not sure of distances and exact location of the group's destination, but we did enjoy the walk nonetheless. All in all, a great experience, but might consider renting a car and doing our own thing next time.

The guides were very experienced, and knowledgeable. The tour it's self was fun. I felt like the instruction phase was a bit long, but due to the varying experience of the people who take these tours I can understand why.

I am in my 60's, and my daughter and I chose this company for our glacier "walk." The guides could not have been nicer and more knowledgeable. They took good care of me, as the oldest person in our group, by far. The tour was challenging and really more of a climb than a walk, and lasted over 4 hours, but I am proud to say, with the help of the guides, that I made it! It was a fascinating and unforgettable experience.

We were picked up promptly from our hotel in Reykjavik and enjoyed a beautiful drive down to Sólheimajökull glacier tongue. The hiking group was small, about 10 people, and our guide was excellent. He taught us how to wear crampons and use the hiking equipment provided. The total walk was about 2.5-3 hours, but there was plenty of stopping to talk and look at things along the way, so it wasn't too much of a workout for us out of shape Americans. The scenery on the glacier was breathtaking!! One of my top experiences in Iceland. On the way back to Reykjavik we stopped at Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls. (I recommend wearing waterproof pants if you have them!) Absolutely beautiful. Would have loved about 10-15 more minutes at each. Overall, couldn't have asked for a better experience. On my next trip to Iceland, I'll definitely book with Icelandic Mountain Guides again.

We went on the Glacier Hike and Northern Lights tour in March 2014 and had an excellent time. On the way to the glacier, we made a number of stops to take photos and visit a really cool folk museum. Once at the glacier, the guides took the time to properly explain how to hike in crampons and with an ice axe, and the views were just amazing. After the hike, we stopped at a small B&B for a delicious dinner of lamb stew and then made a few stops to view the Northern Lights. The Northern Lights weren't especially bright and I didn't have the proper equipment to photograph them, but I can certainly say that I viewed them! We ultimately rented a car to drive the Southern Coast out to Jökulsárlón, so if I had it to do over again I would maybe just do the hike as it's not terribly difficult to view the Northern Lights on your own.

The guide was completely fluent in English and was very knowledgeable and patient. We have already recommended several friends to join the same tour

I went on the Glacier day hike, and it was a great experience. Our guide was friendly, but didn't talk too long, which was good because the glacier was too cold to stand still for too long. He made sure we understood how to use our gear and how to be safe on the glacier. I also appreciated that the tour guides split us up into groups based on how fast/slow we wanted to move on the glacier, especially since it kept the group size small and allowed for differences in ability level. I would definitely recommend Icelandic Mountain Guides!

We took the glacier hiking and northern lights tour. The glacier hike was with a small group and was a blast. The icelandic meal was amazing. The night ended with a northern lights spotting. The driver stayed out way past the time alotted to allow the group to continue viewing this wonder of the world. A large group tour would not have been near as fun or rewarding. I highly recommed Icelandic Mountain Guides and plan on using them again when we return to Iceland.

The glacier hike my husband and I went on February 2014 was a great experience. The guide was knowledgeable and attuned to each person's abilities.
