I urge anyone reading this to question / do your research on the lawyer Homeward Legal plan to assign you, BEFORE paying them any deposit. On the face of it, Homeward Legal were fine. Their quote was competitive, the people on the phone were friendly and communicative, and the onboarding process was quite smooth. The major red flag is the solicitors they have on their books - I was assigned Davies & Mcgrath Law (have a look at their TrustPilot) ... they were total timewasters and I have had to battle with them (and with Homeward Legal) to have any money returned. Lorraine Hoyte was friendly, sympathetic, and helpful in handling my complaint. However Homeward Legal became uncommunicative themselves when it came to enforcing the No Completion No Fee clause in my contract. I'm currently pursuing Davies McGrath Law through the Legal Ombudsman. Please be careful. Sometimes competitive quotes come at a bigger cost...beware of the stress caused by terrible conveyancers.

Homeward legal assigned Davies & McGrath solicitors to my case, which took from 26th Nov to 26th Jan just to onboard us and were impossible to reach after the taking the initial deposit. Finally, when they got back to me after 3 months, they asked for a second valuation report (as the first one expired due their delays with onboarding). Not only that, but they asked to me speak to Target (Help to Buy) to get the processes started for which I incurred cost as well. After 4 months of trying to move the case forward, they told me they won’t be to handle the case and referred me back to Homeward legal for re-panelling. So far, I have paid 2 valuations reports, fees to Target (which are due to expire), deposit to Davies & McGrath solicitor and an insurance to homeward legal (no completion, no fee guarantee) but no work was carried out at any point. Now I am chasing homeward legal for more than a month to try and get my money back but Lorraine, who by the way is Customer Relations Manager, keeps ignoring my calls and emails. I am not the only one having these issues with Davies & McGrath Law and Homeward legal have been recommending this firm to other people who clearly are having the same issues (based on the recent Trustpilot reviews). I do not recommend working with Homeward legal as this is by far the worst company that I’ve dealt with!

I found the adviser very helpful and knowledgeable. Harry handle the call really well,attentive listener and was very reassuring though out the call.

I paid my fees to Hari Keogh and He appointed solicitor PM Law Limited, without informing anyone in 3 weeks time He change the Solicitor to Marshall Hall Levy, this was unprofessional, idiot even don't know contract path was issued by sender solicitor to PM Law Limited. Why seller Solicitor will send again contact path to new Solicitor without information. when I spoke to them, Answer was shocking, saying it was computer problem we had inform ,never seen unprofessional staff like this . I wasted a month nothing was done & I loose everything.

Hi, you assigned Davies McGrath solicitor to my case over a month ago and they have not even been in touch since the client care letter was signed and you took a payment from me. I have called and emailed them several times. I have had to call you several times too and your agents keep fobbing me off by saying that they will chase the solicitors to get in touch with me. I see now that they have horrendous reviews on trust pilot, all similar accounts of Davies McGrath being awful at customer service causing other individuals like myself extreme stress and anxiety, leaving clients without contact for several months, delays resulting in severe loss. We come to you for advice and you continue to refer this law firm to unsuspecting individuals like myself - causing us more grief. This is unforgivable especially when people come to you for help in trying times such as divorce proceedings. Reviews for Davies McGrath call for that law firm to be struck off the list. For you to be aware that they are useless and still pretend that they are a worthwhile firm to refer to, can only suggest you two are in this together. Are you two running a scam?
