Much better than dealing with ATT directly for 13+ years and every time I change plan I get very negative surprise. Chat support was great much better than staying on hold or waiting at att store.

United States | 21 December 2023We switched from AT&T to Red Pocket Mobile to save money, assuming that since we were on the same network, there wouldn’t be much difference in our experience. We were WRONG. Red Pocket saves money by having minimal customer service. If you have a problem and call them for help, the person from Indonesia or wherever tells you to read the FAQs on their website. When you tell them that you have a technical problem that isn’t addressed by the FAQ, the agent repeats the same line about going to the website. When you ask for a manager, the agent puts you on hold for ten minutes, then comes back and says to go to the website. When you use the chat feature, you get better help for technical problems (like our phone was somehow locked by AT&T even though AT&T said it wasn’t and we couldn’t get it off their network) but it’s hard to navigate troubleshooting technical issues on chat. We spent over one month trying to sort out these issues just to get our phones working, and my husband’s phone ended up not working for 2 weeks while we had to wait out a mandatory no-changes period. I also wasn’t able to get a record of my call history for a reimbursement I was seeking from my work; they apparently don’t do that. Ultimately, they gave us our money back because we repeatedly insisted that our experience was horrible.

(Only annoyance was an extra $1 for visual voicemail.). No difference from when I had AT&T directly (other than the cost savings). I would recommend. UPDATE: I rescind this glowing review - and going into my second month with Red Pocket, they get a rage-infused 1-star. Today, on Christmas, my phone service stopped working - I basically got a recording saying I needed to pay my bill when I tried to make a call. I was left stranded - no cell service. When getting home, I logged into the web portal and it said my subscription had expired due to no payment method on file.... but there was a fully functional non-expired credit card on file. So I manually renewed (with the card on file), and got it working. But the auto-deactivation could not have been worse timing and there was no way to rectify it away from home (because you know, no voice/data service) ... and the thing that infuriates me is A.) I still don't know why it happened (is this going to happen again in a month - who knows) B.) I got no warning ... no email, no automated text, no push notification from their app. NOTHING to warn me. I DO NOT TRUST this company not to put me in such a position again, I will likely be looking for a more reliable provider.

I still did not get the credits for my referral. Neither they. Raised ticket 3 months before with Red Pocket and still they are working on this issue. Ticket #134739. I am thinking to move out from Red Pocket.
