United States | 27 September 2023(Prenote: really curious about all these 5-star reviews here that refer to how "CS Name" was super helpful--uh, real people don't call the person on chat "CS something".... these feel faked) -- Why I plan to leave Red Pocket: Went for vacation in the European Union and Red Pocket refused to let me buy temporary tourist travel data, even though they didn't offer it themselves. So much for Google Maps, Translate, texting my spouse, or purchases via phone in another country. Bought an iPhone 14 Pro through Red Pocket last year. It came with a modest discount, which came as a Visa gift card and required autopay. Check. I knew this came with a commitment - that's how they get their money back. I'm also used to MVNOs, and they don't have international roaming plans. But this hasn't been a problem in the past. Was using Visible last year on vacation, and it was no problem to order a tourist eSIM for 7 days in a country, just to get temporary data coverage. iPhones can handle up to 12 eSIMS. When we landed, I immediately connected to airport wifi, and purchased a tourist eSIM for data. Much to my surprise, it gave me an error when installing. I thought something had just gone wrong, and tried again. Finally figured out that Red Pocket had things locked. I contacted them as soon as I could (difficult with only wifi in another country--had to wait until the airbnb and navigate on a bus the old fashioned way - just asking questions of nice folks on the street!) and asked for them to resolve the issue. They gave me the line that many are probably familiar with—that they would not, because the unlock policy says the phone needs to be on the service for 365 days. I assumed I had to stay on the service for a year as a primary eSIM. I even knew I'd be paying for Red Pocket data while I was gone that I'd never use while out of the country. But I had NO IDEA that they wouldn't let me install a *secondary* eSIM while traveling on vacation. I guess I was naive on this. I asked if they'd sell me data service. But of course they don't offer service in the EU (or pretty much anywhere). So even though I'm remaining a paying customer... and you have no ability to sell me data... you're going to BLOCK me from buying temporary data from someone else? While on my honeymoon for two weeks... you effectively brick my phone in another country? Red Pocket customer service has never been great. But the value has been decent and I've been willing to put up with it. Even the hiccups nearly every month (on my renewal day sometimes often these is a 2-3 hour gap with no data!) Was still planning on staying with them. But this soured everything. Maybe the final straw / whatever. They bricked my phone when we really needed it most, in unfamiliar territory trying to navigate in another language. I'm cancelling and gone in 10 days when my 365 days are up and my phone unlocks (oh yeah - that's fun kicker - i was only 20 days away and have already paid for a year... and it was still a hard no).

Switzerland | 26 September 2023Here is what I sent to RedPocket: In the last 24 hours, redpocket disabled all data services to my number / phone 3 times. Every time I was told the problem was resolved, after spending about 25 minutes on the phone. The last time, the person indicated that while I was not doing anything wrong, the system had decided that my data needed to be suspended. She said not to worry, I could just call if it happened again. She said the system could not be changed. Then she put me on hold and I stayed on hold for 40 minutes. I hung up because it was clear she was not going to come back to me. I signed up for an UNLIMITED plan. It is not acceptable that I sign up for an unlimited plan, and while I use it reasonably (meaning I am not downloading tera bytes of data, only regular web browsing and youtube like streaming), that the "system" disables my data every hour and that I am required to call to fix it. I cannot believe that this is the product redpocket wants to sell. Because to me, it is fraud. I paid for an unlimited data plan (albeit throttled above 30Gb as per the fine print), and if redpocket requires me to call every hour to have this service, that should be indicated in the advertising : "UNLIMITED BUT REQUIRES A CALL OF 20 MINUTES MINIMUM TO OUR SUPPORT SERVICE ROUGHLY EVERY HOUR OF USAGE").

United States | 22 September 2023CS Miel is a total boss. Despite a massive pile of issues, and despite picking up where another tech left off, CS Miel made sure i was making calls before they let me go. My previous provider tried every way possible to not spend time with me working on these issues, and had my zip incorrect in their records which caused number porting issues. Not a problem for CS Miel! even after account errors on my part and website issues i couldnt explain, they stuck it out, and made the problems go away. I saw the 5g logo on my phone for the first time today, and i have full bars in the middle of nowhere. I would have liked to not have had any issues at all, but though i did have a pile of issues, CS Miel crushed them with skill, and stayed pro the whole time. Promote this person and raise their pay IMMEDIATELY. Thank you for reading.

United States | 17 September 2023Coverage is fine unlike my previous provider but customer service is HORRIBLE. Way to many "gotchya" experiences. My previous carrier was under Verizon and I wanted to stay under them on red pocket. All is fine until the number transfer. I accidentally submitted the wrong PIN so my old carrier rejected. Red pocket refused to send a new request even though my old carrier needed it. They said they had to cancel the old one and then wait 24 hours after 2 hours worth of arguing with them while at work. Turns out I could submit it myself when I got home from work. so the customer service agent either didn't know what they were doing or they lied to me. Instance 2: hotspot would not work. I got their chat but "Gotcha!" hotspot is only available for iPhones for Verizon, and refused to fix it or make it right so they sent me to covergenius. I ordered a new sim for their GSMA (AT&T) and waited a week and nothing so I chatted them again but "Gotcha!" covergenious is for esim only! So now I'm waiting for my AT&T sim to arrive and customer service is only helpful when you've had your wits end. The coverage better be worth is because I'm starting to look else where. Hasn't even been 2 weeks guys. Come on. UPDATE: I received NO private message from them. No apologies, nothing to make it right, nothing. Pathetic.
