The car we wanted was available from stock, was well prepared and delivered on time. The one hitch that occurred, not John Banks's fault, was promptly and calmly dealt with by Rob Beaton who handled the sale. Overall, excellent. Oh, and so is the car.

Their Sales (Rhys Mealor) and Servicing departments are exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always helpful and polite. Thoroughly recommend them.

Unlike some car sales dealerships, there was no pressure or false sales pitch, just honest and respectful communication. From the moment we arrived at their Ipswich location we were given a warm reception by Kymberley Cant a Sales Specialist. It soon became obvious to me, that John Banks must train their staff to a high standard based on the comprehensive answers she gave to questions I raised regarding the car in question. We returned the following week to complete the purchase with her. The car had been fully valeted, serviced and MOT'd. From start to finish my wife and I agreed that the whole experience was superb and we would have no hesitation in returning to them again in the future or recommending them to other potential buyers.

United Kingdom | 15 June 2024I purchased a KTM Superduke GT from John Banks Colchester back in December 2023. So after numerous emails, phone calls, return visits to the above dealership regarding them fitting a new battery which I always believed they had not and if they had as they said on Numerous occasions the battery wasn't 100% the bike never felt right and was always a bit lazy starting. I'm not going to go into the details please read my previous review regarding John Banks Colchester. I had a message from the Senior Management from John Banks Colchester asking how the issue could be resolved stating that John Banks would be In Touch,to resolve the issue. After 3 weeks I hadn't heard from them so I emailed them again. They asked how the issue could be resolved my response was that I wanted the bike taken to a KTM main dealership for them to check over the bike and to check whether the battery had been replaced as stated by John Banks Colchester and for them to pay for it and possibly pay for a new battery if necessary. They refused to agree to this saying that there was no benefit to me taking the bike to a KTM dealership and that the bike should be returned to their workshop, after being lied to by John Banks Colchester I refused saying that I would pay for this myself. I had a Trip away planned on the bike in May so I needed to know that the bike was 100% before I went. I then took the bike to a KTM dealership, they confirmed my suspicions that the battery had not been replaced. I was informed by the KTM dealership that the time and date on the internal clock in the bike had been set back so the service icon light would not be illuminated. I phoned John Banks Colchester as I was annoyed they tried telling me that because a New battery had been fitted that this would cause the issue regarding the time and date, this is not the case. Whilst at the KTM dealership I asked about getting a spare key, they asked for the key card saying I needed this to get a key cut. I went home to see if I had a key card which I hadn't I was not made aware of this or the implications of not having one at the time of purchasing the bike, and feel that I should have been made aware. I purchased a New battery which I fitted this made a big difference to the bike starting. I then emailed John Banks Colchester regarding the new findings and there response was that because the bike was reduced in their sale that my customer expections should also be reduced. I've been in touch with Citizens advice regarding the issues who advised me that I should ask for compensation which I did. This was refused by John Banks Colchester. John Banks Colchester offered to buy the bike back at a reduced price to which I refused as I would have been without a bike for the prearranged trip away plus I would have been out of pocket through no fault of mine. They also offered to pay for a new battery and the KTM workshop invoice on the understanding that this would be the end of the issues before I knew about the Date and time being changed on the bike. I purchased the bike in good faith and really regret doing so from John Banks Colchester. I have nothing to gain from writing this review. I sent this review to John Banks Colchester 7 days ago saying if I didn't hear anything back within the week that this would be posted on social media etc. I asked them if they disagreed or had anything to add/remove to reply within 7 days. They didn't respond.

Paul from John Banks was especially very friendly and quickly sent me a personalised vehicle walkaround detailing all the key information of the car. I was unable to attend the branch however Paul kindly put through all the relevant paperwork and worked around my availability to deliver my car to me. The car exceeded my expectations and was exactly as described (and even better). After a few days after delivery Paul called me to check in on me and how I was getting along with the car and I could not be happier with the service, delivery and the car. Would highly recommend John Banks for the place to go if looking for a new car sold by very honest people and a reputable dealer.

The vehicle was in immaculate condition when I collected it but what I was also impressed with was the pre delivery service, all the paperwork by email and a high level of customer engagement from Rhys, the sales executive. I traded in an Audi and I have to say that on all counts John Banks was better.

Kymberley set up an appointment for the test drive, allowed me to check over the vehicle, and allowed me to take the car out for about an hour. Everything was fine with the car given its age and mileage, so I decided to take it. The turn around was quick and the car has had no issues so far. Price was fair, customer service was excellent, and the process was transparent.
