Brilliant website with great advice, which helped in our decision-making process. We needed the new mattress before Christmas and were close to their Monday afternoon cut-off point for ordering. I rang and spoke to someone in the office, who said they'd hold the weekly order until we'd completed our order on the website. They then got back in touch to check all the details before putting the order through. Delivery was prompt and as promised over the phone. Delivery guys were lovely. First-rate service all round. And the mattress is great too!

I ordered the Artisan Naturals king size and tried it for 50 nights, but found I was rolling into the center and sinking into it more than I would have liked, since it is not really designed for one person. JR recommended I return it for a full refund and further recommended a competitor that might have a mattress more suitable for me. Let that last sentence sink in. A lot of companies claim to be customer focused, but in reality, they are not. Most companies are profit-focused first and customer-focused second. John Ryan is the only company I can think of that genuinely puts the customer first, even before their own interests. They will help you find the best mattress even if it means directing you elsewhere, without prejudice. This doesn't just apply over the phone: even their own website has tons of articles critically reviewing not only their own, but competitor products also, and their mattress comparison page searches not only their own products but competitors too, even with direct links to competitor sites. Frankly, I don't know how their customer-first model is even sustainable, but I truly wish them all the best even though they didn't quite have the right product for me this time. If you want help finding the right mattress for you, John Ryan by Design must be your first port of call. My only gripe was with their delivery company of choice, Keen & Able, who managed to disappoint in both the delivery and collection, but any serious problems, such as damage, were compensated by JR so this is just a footnote since it's an external company.

It was easy to choose and order our product. The staff were friendly and very informative. The price was reasonable, the delivery was neatly done and on time. We are very pleased.

WONDERFUL BED, WONDERFUL SERVICE. My wife and I made the usual visits to all the main 'High Street' brand selling shops, only to become increasingly 'comparison confused' and concerned by our follow up research revealing poor quality products and customer support, as experienced by fellow bed searchers treading the same path before us. Cross-eyed and despairing we confided in a friend who said "try John Ryan" , describing them as reminiscent of the 'good old fashioned days' of low volume hand made beds and superb customer service through choice, delivery and after care. We'll, it's true. We were helped to make the right choice, they were spot on with their delivery timescale using a fantastic courier, and were so helpful when we changed our mind for another model during the order process, no questions asked, just happy to help us get it right. We cannot say how much of a relief it was to be able to put our trust in a modern company with a good old fashioned pride in what they make. For us, buying a new bed was an expensive investment, which, thanks to John Ryan, has paid off. We now have a wonderful, high quality bed for the same high street prices, and it feels like it was tailor made just for us. It was! In life you get what you pay for, and whilst John Ryan's beds don't come cheap you certainly do get your monies worth. We've had ours for about 2-3 months and it's by far the most comfortable bed of ever slept on in my life. If you want to bed that's extremely high quality build and comfortable then look no farther than John Ryan. One thing to take into consideration, these mattresses are extremely heavy and to get the most out of them you will need to turn them, can you do it? If you're old or not very strong you could have a problem, unless you get someone to do it for you I guess. All in all in excellent bed and I'm glad I bought it.

Fantastic advice from the company. Learned much. The mattress, combined with changing my sleeping position, really helped with my back. The mattress itself is lovely. I actually kept the protector off for a couple of nights just so I could look at the mattress. It's very well made. The chaps who delivered it were very polite, pleasant, helpful and safe. I honestly have nothing bad to say about any aspect of this, these guys are the 'First Direct' of mattresses!

We have had our mattress for about a month now and are very happy with it and the overall buying experience. We needed to replace a very ancient uncomfortable mattress and whilst researching a replacement I found the information available (or lack of it) from different vendors about their mattresses pretty confusing. The whole market seems to be a minefield for the purchaser. The John Ryan website was really helpful in explaining mattress construction and quality and after a lot of internet trawling and thinking about the kind of mattress we needed we decided to purchase from them. Communication throughout the purchase process was excellent and it was delivered on time with no bother at all. The mattress is extremely sturdy and well made. it is very heavy so recommend getting the delivery guys to take it upstairs for you, which they were more than happy to do. I paid the additional charge to have the old mattress removed, which again was sorted by the delivery guys no problem. Basically this mattress is a million miles away in terms of quality and construction from the 'mattress in a box' we were initially thought we were interested in buying. I would definitely recommend this company.

Purchasing a bed online, is not something I believed I would ever do. Way too risky!! After a lot of time researching quality beds to suit our needs, I came across John Ryan and saw there was a 60 day no quibble return. After a conversation with the team at John Ryan I bought a bed from their Artisan range and we are delighted with it! It is high quality and we have never slept so well. Service and delivery was exceptional too. I would highly recommend JR by design.

John Ryan by Design was recommended to me by a close friend. She had purchased several beds from the business for her personal use and cottage letting properties a few years ago. I was able to try out and sleep on one of the beds in the cottages although to be fair the red wine aided my sleep as much as the bed !
