We bought one of these for our eldest, it was so good we bought another one for our youngest. And, since my youngest kicks me out of bed at least three times a week at various points during the night, I have slept on it many times and can vouch for its comfyness (I'm 5'6 & 11st for reference). They both sleep much better generally since we replaced their old mattresses. Much cooler and more comfortable. Highly recommended.

We purchased a mattress which was delivered in April 2021. I was so looking forward to the comfort and good nights sleep so many reviews were promising. I have always hated memory foam and was under the impression that this would not be the same as it is not described as such. The mattress was beautiful when it arrived, you can certainly see the craftsmanship which I cannot fault!! Unfortunately, I just don’t think it’s for me, we chose the firm mattress and someone from your team contacted me to be sure I had made the right decision. I appreciated this, I was spending a lot of money so to know that your team were on it checking these things was very reassuring. I confirmed that I definitely needed a firm mattress even though he suggested that I would only require the medium. I have to say, even though we have the firm it is still so soft!! The top layers are so like memory foam that I struggle to move on it. The promise of not falling to the middle is accurate however I find myself rolling to the edge instead and when I try to move back I can’t reposition comfortably due to the ‘shaping’ that has held! I am past the date of being able to return it, I was just convinced that it was me and I’d get used to it. I bought my kids cheaper mattresses from Amazon and in hindsight I wish I’d just bought the same for myself, I could have had a new one each year for 3 years at the same cost! I can’t say it’s the fault of John Ryan, I’m sure I have a high quality mattress, it’s just not for me and if you need something very firm this will not suffice for you either.

Great company, we agonised over mattresses for months. We've been sleeping on it for only a few days, but early signs are good.. What make this company an easy recommendation is the customer support. One number to ring, someone picks up the phone (sometimes immediately) and will just any question. I usually just research things online and buy them, but I went through our needs with one of the advisors, they were quick, professional, and most importantly, didn't try to upsale anything (I keep a keen eye on these things). I asked them a couple of questions expecting the answer to be: buy this or upgrade to that, but to my delight, they gave me reasonable advice (that didn't involve paying extra). If these mattresses (we bought 2) held up nicely and were comfortable long term (I'm very optimistic), then they'll have a customer for life. Hopefully I'll be able to afford their higher trim offerings in the future.

The most comfortable mattress ever! And we bought a ridiculously expensive mattress from John Lewis last time. This is more comfortable. Customer service second to none!

My mother, who has no internet, needed a new mattress. I had to choose, buy and trust that the delivery and old mattress recycling would happen without experiencing the product itself. Mum is thrilled with the comfort and was fulsome in her praise of the delivery team who were reassuring and efficient. Thank you John Ryan for your excellent communication which had to happen in two directions, with me the orderer and my mum who is the recipient. They even managed to work around a delivery date change. Outstanding!

I brought the Artisan Naturals Mattress it's much more comfortable, supportive and better made than my old memory foam. Very pleased with it after a month of use. So much so that it also convinced my mother to buy a mattress from them too. My only real gripe is that the delivery company didn't give me the option to take away the packaging and told me I had to sign to say I would deal with it myself.

Absolutely fantastic company and service! I have had a few pocket sprung, supposedly high end mattresses/beds but sadly, none have been that great. The mattress I have bought and it has been in use for a month now, I can honestly say it is the best mattresses I have ever had! And I have spine and hip problems that have improved a little since sleeping on this mattresses!! Both my husband and myself, have slept far better on this mattress. Looking at the quality of the mattress, I see no reason as to why my opinion will change! Thank you John Ryan, I will definitely be buying from you again.

Subsequent ordering online was very easy and I received a phone call shortly afterwards to ensure that I had indeed ordered the best mattress for my needs. Did exactly what they promised. Well made, with a quality feel, but we didn't get on with it. JR arranged collection and there was nothing further for us to do. Made the whole process from beginning to end relaxed and no pressure. Would recommend this company.

We bought the Artisan Naturals king size mattress. Having now had the mattress a month we are very happy with it. It is very supportive and comfortable. John Ryan were very helpful when I called to ask questions and were happy to recommend the mattress they thought would suit us best. Although we didn't use it, the returns/exchange policy gave us peace of mind knowing we had 60 days to ensure we were happy with the mattress, rather than the limited time you get to try one in a shop. Their website is also very helpful with lots of excellent information. We were very pleased with both product and service we received and would recommend John Ryan By Design.

Excellent professional service from ordering to delivery for a Custom sized (7 ft Single) Artisan 1500... excellent quality at a reasonable price..... my 6ft 6in Son loves the bed.... no feet hanging over the end :)

After returning the Emma mattress I just didn’t get along with, I spent a lot of time researching a suitable mattress. I had looked at a lot of other websites for info and prices for a new mattress, but after speaking to the advisor at John Ryan I felt very confident that I was going to get the most suitable one for us. I had thought we needed a firm mattress but we were advised to get a medium one, which was the right decision! Delivery was very professional and charming! The whole process went smoothly. I recieved my double mattress in a soft but it is quite firm . Still getting use to it ☺ Before i brought my matress i did lots of research first and john Ryan seemed the best option . I did not recieve a booklet with the mattress when to turn and rotate it but soon looked on youtube watched one of many brilliant John Ryan videos about matresses and soon found the answer I highly recommend this company The mattress is made to an excellent standard
