It’s been 8 nights now since we had our mattress delivered. Just a quick review of our experience. Initial contact and discussion, friendly and professional. Delivery service, great. Courteous couple of chaps, kept us informed of their impending arrival time. Offered to take their shoes off but we had done the necessary prep for the delivery, as requested. Took our old mattress away as agreed. First night!! I couldn’t believe it, I regularly wake up at 3.30am, didn’t wake till 7.30. I was in shock. You really should recommend using, or even supplying an alarm clock with every mattress. My wife, who suffers from arthritis is enjoying her sleeping also, and said because of the well designed structure and defined shape, the bed is easier to make. Finally!! The old saying that you get what you pay for could never be more appropriate. Over the last 10 years or so we have spent far more on different mattresses than we have just spent on this JR one. Excellent product information and service. The information on their website was clear, helpful and informative. I wondered how I ever bought a mattress in all my 70 yrs without such knowledge!! I also found their telephone customer service to be excellent. Buying their bed and mattress is the best investment I have ever made. I sleep like a baby now!

A lot of info about buying the right mattress is given on their website so just this alone was very helpful before making a decision on ordering. The experience of speaking to someone on the phone to get advice was also good and probably better than experiences I've had in the past with sales people in local stores. Clear communication throughout ordering and delivery as well so overall a good experience.

I had such high expectations for our mattress from John Ryan, but I'm sorry to say they just weren't met. After a few conversations with their team about the right mattress for us and our budget, we were recommended the "Origins Pocket 1500" for its medium support for both our weights and heights and sleeping positions. The young men that delivered it were very helpful, though they didn't arrive until 10pm at night and had two more mattresses to deliver after this! Speaking with them, this is quite a common occurrence and, after paying a contribution of £49.99 towards the delivery I expected items to be delivered at a reasonable time (which was originally planned for 5pm, but due to the number of deliveries booked in this just wasn't physically possible). We may've just been unlucky with the mattress itself. It was purchased from the outlet store as a Grade B, which meant it had been returned but checked over and physically was okay. However, it was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. I'm 5'3 and 11 stone and found that, as a front sleeper, my back was not supported and instead was bending back as the front of my body sunk into the top layer of the mattress, leading me to wake up with back pain. My partner had a similar problem (he's 6'7ish and around 17 stone) whereby his side and back were sinking in, causing him pain. He also said he could feel the springs he was sinking so low. Not the medium support we were both hoping for after researching and following the recommendations of John Ryan. Returning the item was thankfully quick and easy, with the team listening to my concerns and arranging a courier for the week after. They have since refunded the mattress itself, but not the original delivery charge. Overall, I really, really wanted to like the mattress. I wanted to support this small business and I wanted to be able to agree with the fact that they know their mattresses, but after this experience I think I'll be going elsewhere in the future.

Excellent service from first contact to delivery. The mattress is exceptional in every way. We’ve never slept so well and look forward to a quality nights sleep every night. You certainly get what you pay for and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this company and there wonderful mattresses. You won’t be disappointed!

This is actually my second review of our new Artisan Naturals bed. We have been sleeping on our wonderful new bed for around six weeks now and it is just brilliant. It is very comfortable but supportive and we really like the fact that it has a sprung edge. We have turned it several times and being a super king, it is quite a workout, but absolutely worth it. One of the best purchases we have ever made.

I received a follow up call after placing my order to ensure it was correct. I was slightly surprised to then not have any follow up after delivery to ensure I was happy.

Excellent customer service with advice on which mattress would suit us best and also great communication via email and phone. The delivery service was very smooth. And the mattress is perfect! Previously, we had a memory foam one but in recent months I woke with a sore lower back every morning. Not now! So glad we swapped and bought the Artisan 1500.

A helpful conversation with the company confirmed that we had considered the right things when selecting a mattress to purchase. Delivery was ahead of expectation and was carried out professionally, to the room of choice. Most importantly, the mattress provides great support and we no longer wake up with aching backs! We are very pleased with our purchase.

I had a lovely lady helping me with my many questions and concerns over which mattress would be right for me - she was very patient and very helpful. A good few weeks in and I am loving my new mattress - in my case getting away from memory foam has made all the difference - this is a very solid, very well made matrress. I brought a discounted one and from what I can see it is absolutely perfect so I would say it is well worth considering that option to save some money.
