I've been struggling to find a mattress that can accommodate my back issues, and purchased one of the Artisans range from John Ryan by Design Ltd. They gave really helpful and clear advice in the lead-up to my purchase. Unfortunately, the mattress proved not to be quite right for me - just one of those things, and certainly nothing to do with the quality of the mattress, which was excellent - and I discussed my options with them. We came to the conclusion that returning the mattress for a refund was the best course of action, and so that's what I did. There was a delay on my side - family issues, followed by a holiday - which meant that I was slightly out of the return window, but they accommodated this with no muss and no fuss. I really appreciated their level of customer service, and their integrity.

United Kingdom | 25 July 2023The bed is great but I was disappointed that it was delivered and I had not agreed to the delivery date so was not prepared. Also, not good that the delivery company did not take the old bed away, so I had to deal with that myself; not an easy task when you live alone.

Not being able to examine and test the product before parting with your cash could be terrifying. Thank goodness that in this age of low quality products and appalling customer service, businesses like John Ryan by Design still exist. With a website crammed full of really useful information I was so reassured that I had found a bunch of honest craftsmen/women that I stopped my search instantly. When it was time to confirm my order I had very few questions left for the lovely Julie, who checked that I had made the right choice based on weight and sleeping preferences. Delivery updates and service were also great. All in all a very refreshing and stress-free online shopping experience. 6 weeks on and I'm loving my new mattress; back ache is banished and I'm sleeping like a log. Thanks guys for being so awesome. Bottom line: highly recommended.

I can tell you at 75yrs of age I had a number of questions in relation to my choice of mattress and delivery. Both services were excellent, the delivery term were great. Oh yes, the mattress is well made and so comfortable, that from the first night we have had no problems at all with sleeping. Lastly, my husband and I were recommended to John Ryan by Design and have no personal relationship with the company or delivery service. Well done all and thank you.

Unfortunately it was a little too firm for myself but John Ryan were excellent in arranging collection and prompt to refund with no hassle. Top service. Would recommend to friends.

United Kingdom | 23 May 2023I have had the Artisan 1500 Mattress which now retails for £1400 for nearly 2 years. 1 year in we started to notice slight dip on both side of the bed we lie on, so we made sure we flip and twist every 2 weeks even to this date. Those dips have become significantly worse. We purchased a premium mattress protector and even that is not helping. We followed the guideline to the letter. Twisting and flipping the mattress every month at the start. I reached out to John Ryan this week for help since the mattress is no longer providing a good sleep anymore. I have to say you can really only review a company on its initial response when you have issues. Basic customer service is not to tell the customer they are wrong on the opening line. Like Luke Quinn's review. You get a copy & paste response with links to back up what they are saying. The opening line to the email was shocking. That blow it for me straight away. Not even a sorry to hear you are having problem and we can help, even though they might not be able to. Mr Moss "The care leaflet we send out with your guarantee when you order from us does state that you need to utilise the full surface area of your mattress, and not just sleep either side and leave the middle as brand new mattress that doesn't settle like the areas where you both." This is clearly their response opener to negate any and all issue related to their mattresses. We are told we need to utilise the full surface area. That is a ridiculous statement, how can 2 people sleep in the middle of the bed, or whilst sleeping remember to move into the middle and regularly change position. 2 Years and the bed is unusable and will be disposed of. I really cannot recommend this mattress or the company. The email is clearly a don't bother us with your issue. Even though the last line states: If you could please remove all the bedding from your mattress and take some photos to show the problem areas you mention, once we look at these we will get back to you. Which is after the following link stating we told you so and it all natural. Nothing to see here, please move along.
