Great mattress. Great customer service. No more back pain. Look forward to going to bed every night!

I bought the Artisan Bespoke around 2 years ago and decided to wait before reviewing (though I didn't mean to leave it quite so long). I did loads of research before buying, loved the level of detail on the John Ryan site. I'm so glad I decided to trust them as we couldn't be happier with our bed. I sleep so much better than I used to. My partner has back and neck problems and these have really improved since we got the mattress. We had a problem with the delivery (delivery company's fault, not JR) and JR sorted it out really quickly. All the staff we spoke to were really nice and helpful. I still can't quite believe how much we spent on a bed, and we scandalised our entire family, but it's hands down the best purchase I've ever made. Guests have slept in the bed too and loved it, said it was the best night's sleep they had had in years

Prompt, professional service, delivery on time by a great team and an excellent product

After reading such glowing reviews of this company, in February 2023 we took delivery of a Super King Zip and Link mattress. The advice we received by phone was so personal. We opted for two different spring tensions and our choice is so very comfortable, providing a great sleep for us both. In October of the same year I was surprised to find one of the zips had come away from the mattress. Upon contacting the firm I was sent a brand new mattress in exchange, no questions asked. I don’t expect faults are a regular occurrence at John Ryan as the mattress looks so very well made. Amazing customer service.

Bed came as described and is really comfortable.Will defo be buying again

The mattress has been a great disappointment. I bought it having watched a video comparing it with the Hypnos mattresses used at Premier Inns. It assured purchasers that due to the cushioned section on both sides it could be turned regularly and therefore not lose support or quality. I’ve had mine just over a year and the middle has gone soft- so much so that I tend to roll into the middle and get a sore back due to its softness. I’ve sent videos and photographs showing this wear and the company has not responded in a satisfactory way. Very disappointed with their poor customer service.

The whole experience from advice on the phone prior to ordering, to the delivery by two helpful and careful gentlemen was excellent. The mattress has taken some getting used to, now both my husband and myself are not just satisfied but very pleased with the purchase.

This was my second purchase from John Ryan beds and like the first item the Bed Base is excellent/very well made. The customer service and delivery were fabulous keeping me informed all the way through the process from order to delivery. Two delivery guys were very nice lads and professional. I would certainly recommend this company.

Their mattresses dip and sag too much. Absolutely terrible for people who need a firm mattress. I felt that customer service tried to shirk all responsibility too. Not worth the stress. Avoid at all costs.

The mattress is excellent and met up to our expectations. Apart from some confusion over delivery dates on the part of the courier - the mattress eventually arrived within the 3-week window promised by the Ryan - but this involved a 2-week delay when first informed of it arriving!

Wonderful company to deal with and the mattress and divan are top quality. I would give five stars but sadly our delivery didn't take place until gone 11pm, which was a little disappointing!

Omg we loveeeeee our new mattress, it feels like it is made for our body and combined weight and height. I never knew how bad our previous mattress was till I got our new mattress which was soo hard and gave us bad pain. It was so hard that I would wake up in the middle of the nights. But since we got our new mattress my husband and I have been sleeping like a babies, it is like sleeping in clouds and finally no more back pains. Thank you John Ryan by design

Great service and great product. This was certainly a spend for me, even though the quality is evident but the product really does feel like an investment. I purchased this mattress after trialing a Simba which had my back in pieces and am happy to say since using this mattress the pain has gone. Staff at John Ryan are knowledgeable and helpful and a credit to the company.

Great customer service from start to finish. Received good initial advice and help from Julie over the phone. Lots of really useful information available to read on the website. Ordering was straightforward. Received follow up email and phone call after order was placed to both confirm order and make sure the mattress we had ordered was the correct one for us. Our delivery by two man team was excellent and professional. Mattress arrived well wrapped. As booked the old mattress was taken away along with all the packaging. Very pleased indeed. The medium firm Artisan Naturals Super King mattress is fabulous. So supportive, warm and comfortable. Thank you.

John Ryan are good to deal with and do what they say they will. We have an Artisans Naturals King Size medium mattress. It's worn in now and still isnt especially comfortable. I don't think I'm an overly fussy side sleeper but it doesn't dynamically form to the body shape like our previous Staples (also pocket sprung and 'medium') mattress..it's like the pocket springs can't work independently as the upholstery prevents it..feeling more like a basic cage sprung mattress...strange. As well as the Staples mattress,.I also find the 3 layer foam mattress in our motorhome more comfortable for the hips and am struck by the difference when coming home after a trip and wasn't with the previous pocket sprung Staples mattress. My daughter's Emma (foam) mattress forms to the body better (though is a little warmer) and I've been more comfortable in various hotels. It's a shame as it's seems well made but just doesn't perform that well. I would rather have kept the aging Staples but that's the risk of buying online and having the old mattress taken away...my mistake. I would add that John Ryan do honour their offer to swap (or take a return) on a mattress. I did this as had the Artisans Luxury initally which felt like a soft top which immediately bottomed onto too unforgiving springs. Having swapped the original one I felt I should stick with the replacement. I'll put a topper on which should help but wasn't expecting to need that on a medium mattress at this price.

The bed is very comfortable and now I enjoy a good night sleep. Handles on the seven draws would have been useful. Unfortunately I have weak wrists and find it difficult to open the draws. I would have given 5 stars but the delivery people did not make contact before the delivery and were a bit chaotic.

I have had back problems for many years - 3 slipped discs at different times and scoliosis. I had grown accustomed to not sleeping well, and to waking up in the morning desperate to sit up and move around to ease the pain. Our old mattress had begun to sag and I did a lot of research before deciding to order from John Ryan. A lady rang us after we placed the order to check we were buying the right mattress, and it came much more quickly than expected. It’s now been about 6 weeks and I can’t quite believe it. I’m sleeping for hours, I wake with no pain in my back at all, and just having a new mattress has been life changing for me. Thank you John Ryan, we’ll never buy a mattress from anyone else now.

Have owned an Artisans mattress for 9 years now. The difference vs. first year is unnoticeable. So comfortable and breathable!. Bought another one recently. Durability often less ignored on reviewes and wanted to make sure it is well noted!!
