Great organisation and value for money. Second trip to India, and have found Citrus to be great value for money. They have organised a superb trip full but not too busy. We had a guide on a couple of days when needed rather than all the time. A great driver who spoke excellent English and not too quickly! Hotels have all been fine, and staying half board everywhere, an option available from Citrus but not other travel companies, has been brilliant. I would recommend Citrus and will certainly travel with them again.

We have just returned from a 13 day trip to Kerala with citrus holidays. We could not have ask for anything else from them as the journey and places we visited were excellent, it was full on and we are not young either, some days in the car were a bit too long and we were not prepared for that, ( although our driver did tell us the day before) i think the last venue took 5 hours to get there although the views and places we stopped are were brilliant. Our driver called Kannan was such a true gentleman he was very bothered that we were taken to places for coffee or lunch that was really good food and lovely stops. He was there whenever we had gone on to do something which meant going on a bus or boat, he was there as soon as we got off, the car was air conditioned ready for us to get into. He was smart every morning with a clean white shirt and ready to greet us with a great big smile. He treat us like royals and If we didnt want to do something which was on the itinerary then he would ask if we would like to see something else or go for a massage. Perfect. I would definitely go with citrus again but people need to remember that its India you are visiting which is not the Mediterranean and things are different. Drinking alcohol is NOT the norm, gin and tonic is NOT the norm and to buy alcohol you have to be taken to government buildings where the choice is VERY limited, and not cheap. In the hotel at the end of the holiday isle de coco they do have wine and bear but no choice either. The food throughout our stay was fantastic but I havent had a curry since i came back and will wait a bit before i do. Otherwise I cannot fault the holiday at all and meeting people who are doing the similar things as yourself whilst there is great as you bump into them and share experiences. We will be back.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Kerala. Our driver who was with us for 8 days Sajeev helped to make the holiday memorable. He was very knowledgeable about the area and made sure we had the best of experiences. The places we visited were fantastic and the accommodation reflected the area the standards were very good and service excellent. Would highly recommend this trip to fellow travelers.

After a very poorly thought out tour in Indonesia I have, as requested, emailed Citrus. 2 weeks and still no response. Once you pay your money they have no interest.

The booking process was great. Mel went the extra mile to find me a suitable holiday at the cheapest price. Very impressed. The holiday itself, brilliant for someone like me. Loads packed into the inclusive itinerary. A great break. This was the Kerala 9 days tour with resort at the end. For anyone less adventurous than myself or in any way less able, this would have been perhaps too much of a challenge. 1300 kms in 6 or 7 days, on roads and in driving conditions that were a bit mad on occasions. I loved it but others would have been frightened and stressed. There was no tour guide included, we expected the driver, to do tour guide duties but other than get us to the various locations, and being a lovely guy and driver, he was not the greatest guide. I sat in the jump seat but ended up relaying his quiet occasional information to the rest of the party and on two occasions, it was myself who checked us ALL into the hotels and twice was given tickets to get us ALL into venues. I didnt mind too much but to expect a guest to do this....we are ALL on holiday, not doing a job! If the excellent value of the holiday is BECAUSE there is no guide, this should be made clear at the outset. Our party, strangers at the start, fortunately all got along well but another party could have made this a big issue. Hotels were good standard but varied in service and food quality. Wood Note was noisy sleepwise, first hotel was lovely, Munnar terrific location and very pleasant hotel, last resort, Isla di Coco was fantastic. Inclusive massage there was amazing. I would definitely book with Citrus again. I had a brilliant holiday.

Wow Citrus what a holiday! We were so looking forward to this trip and visiting India and we were not disappointed. You were recommended to us by our friends and we would certainly recommend you further. From the initial booking with Citrus, right through to the flight home, everything went to plan and generally exceeded our expectations. Our holiday was made very enjoyable by the interaction with our personal driver, Krishna, who was excellent and deserved 5 stars. The driving in general across India takes some getting used to, but we always felt in safe hands. Krishna was always punctual and keen to please, making sure we had breaks and plenty of photo opportunities. The itinerary was vary varied and ensured we experienced everything from the old colonial palaces to the green landscape of the tea and coffee plantations in the hills, to the wilds of the rainforest and the relaxing Ayurveda resort at the end. Be warned there is a lot of driving to get from place to place, but the views you see and sights you experience make it worthwhile and having your own personal driver made it special. The Radisson Blu and CGH Earth Wayanad Wild hotels were exceptional. The hotel in Kochi was a bit 'tired' and remote, but overall all the hotels were of a good standard. The nice touches of inclusive massage, boat trip at Poovar and jeep ride (not really a safari) were enjoyed. We did feel there was no need to visit all the boating lakes on the trip - bit of a waste of time. Just a suggestion - driver to provide a map/info sheet for each day's activities so you can see where you have been and where you are going. We met a great bunch of people on the trip and it was great to meet up at the end of the day over dinner to share the day. Can't wait to book our next trip!

We have recently returned from a 2 week Southern India Explorer tour with private chauffeur with Citrus holidays. Although there was little communication from them between the time we booked the tour and the start date, everything happened according to the itinerary. We were met at Bangalore Airport by one driver and taken to our first hotel and then, in the afternoon, we met our driver Sree, who was to be with us for the next 10 days or so. He was very friendly, courteous and always punctual and we felt safe with him, inspite of the driving techniques being very different from home (which takes a bit of getting used to). He had a knack of spotting us coming from a little way off, after finishing at a site or attraction, and being there waiting to pick us up with the car, so that we didn’t even have to walk back to find the car on many occasions. He took us to some very good, cheap and authentic places for lunch, and we enjoyed trying his menu recommendations. On his last day with us, he even took us to some carpet shops, which he had researched, as we had expressed an interest in buying such an item. We cannot recommend him highly enough. The itinerary itself was amazing and very varied and included visiting palaces, temples, tea factory, gardens, a train journey, a cultural show and many other sites and viewpoints. Undoubtedly the highlights were the stay in the jungle retreat with walks with the naturalist and cruising the Kerala Backwaters, spending a night on a houseboat. However, just driving along many of the roads and through the towns, there was so much to see and take in. The hotels were all of a good standard and the food delicious. Downsides were the vineyard tour, as there was a national alcohol ban valid the weekend we visited, so we were not allowed to try, buy or even sniff the wine. We think an alternative activity could have been thought of for that morning. Also, the last hotel Isola di Cocco at Poovar, although by a beach, the waters were not safe to swim in. We think this should have been pointed out when we booked the holiday, as we were looking forward to having a swim in the sea. Unfortunately, at this last hotel, also, my wife slipped on wet slippery tiles in our bathroom, it had been raining heavily, the bathroom being open to the elements, and suffered a head and arm injury which needed treatment at a local hospital. We can’t fault the service and attention we received from the hotel and hospital staff, but the fact remains, that there should not have been such slippery tiles in the bathroom. However, to sum up, we would highly recommend this tour.

I contacted this company via email and the web chat to ask them how much a deposit would be for a certain trip. I waited 5 days, and never got a response back. I would not book with a company that does not communicate promptly to answer such a simple question.

Booked the exotic Kerala 10 night package. The hotels were of an excellent standard although the hotel in Munnar was noisy at night with s a service lift running all night. The food was excellent and great value for money. The only improvement I would suggest is to let people know in advance of booking that some of the hotels are dry, no alcohol sold or allowed at the dining table. Our driver was prompt and extremely courteous but not a full tour guide. Some of the transfers and trips were earlier starts than shown in the itinerary and meant we had little time to relax and have a leisurely swim and breakfast. We also arrived late twice and missed out if soft trekking. Having said that we had an extra visit to a folklore museum which was great we could have missed one of the numerous churches off in Fort Kochi. I loved the house boat trip and the trip through the mangroves I loved Kerala and it's people they were so polite and smiley. I would recommend this package if a few tweeks were made including a little bit more time to relax in between rather than 2 full days at the end. Some of the hotels were nowhere near a town to walk to that would have been nice.

Met at Bengalore Airport at 5 am by Sridath who was our driver for 10 days. From that day to the last he was a very careful driver and kept us safe on the Indian roads and was very informative wherever we went. All the hotels were good especially liked Wayanad Wild so different but relaxing. The food was amazing and plentiful especially on the Houseboat in Alleppey but all hotels were very good and saw some amazing sights. Now relaxing at Isola de Coco in Poovar before flying home but would highly recommend this holiday as India is a beautiful country and the people really friendly. Do not let people put you off visiting this wonderful country especially Kerala.

Golden Triangle & kerala. Hazel Hayward with Tracey Dowe 6th November to 22nd November 2019 this was a holiday of a life time for me, but oh how wrong I was I NEED to came back... I've had just such an amazing time, Delhi, Jaipur & Agra. India has so much to offer I love the history that surrounds this wonderous place. Made so much more interesting by our first driver Kanhaiya-Lal. His driving was brilliant, we felt very safe in his hands high praise indeed, & his knowledge of the surrounding area while travelling made the road trips more interesting we both loved him he is a credit to your company. Your guides that we had for our various days were also brilliant, answering our questions, there knowledge also outstanding.the only one gripe was the Radisson Hotel, wanting to charge us for evening meal. But with Shuhal's help & that of our guide Shyam it got sorted. But they were adamant that we had not got half board! Even when we went to checkout they Still wanted to charge us for evening meal.. Met at Cochin airport by the wonderful Babu Edappally, of which a firm friendship has developed, he has been SO attentive & especially helpful to myself after my luggage was detained in Delhi as I had honestly forgot about my tablet (power pack) being in my main stowed luggage. Shuhal was also very helpful Babu went over & above to help me get my luggage, suggested we got in touch with the British High Commission in Delhi. Which we did, then with the very greatful help of Sudhir Sreedharan from the spice plantation, homested, who stayed on the phone for most of the evening, found out case arrived Sunday morning in Cochin but we hadn't been informed even though they had Babu's phone number & both of our email addresses. anyways with the BHC & Sudhir I collected my case from airport Monday lunchtime. HUGE THANK YOU to all involved Sudhir even phoned me via Babu, to make sure all was okay & everything intact. Thank you Citus for your assistance in this matter. Now at Isola de cocco, what a wonderful place Both Tracey & myself will be back hopefully in 2 years definitely in 3 & we will be going through yourselves again & requesting / insisting on Kanhaiya-Lal for our North side & Babu Edappally for the South. If your stars went higher I'd give them all. 100⭐s

we are just coming to the end of our 16 day tour of The Golden Triangle and Kerala. Our driver in Rajasthan, Kanhaiya Lal was a credit to the company. An excellent driver, knowledgeable, courteous, sensitive to our requirements, along with our various guides made up sightseeing trips very enjoyable. We were sad to say goodbye at Dehli airport on the 12th. Our aim is to return here in 2-3yrs and would love to have Kanhaiya Lal as our driver. Babu Edappally our driver for our Kerala experience was superb. His knowledge of the area is 2nd to none. whether it was a spice plantation, backwater cruise, a few surprise stop offs along the way. he greatly enhanced our trip. Very courteous polite and thoughtful we cannot praise him highly enough 5☆ to everyone...

We recently enjoyed a 17 day holiday in India booked through Citrus Holidays. My wife really wanted to go but I wasn't so sure if I'd enjoy the experience and was a little uneasy before we left. How wrong could I be? We have now visited 37 countries and I can safely say that India is our favourite! Our wonderful time was completely taken care of by Citrus who looked after us throughout delivering everything that they said that they would in the description on their website and in the holiday documents sent through prior to our travel. Both of our chauffeurs were exceptional. Misrah in Northern India collected us at Delhi Airport and from that moment onwards was there on the dot everyday at the time that he said that he would. Driving in India is an art form not to be attempted by Europeans. And whilst it can be described as frightening we felt completely safe in Misrah hands from Delhi to Jaipur, from Jaipur to Agra and then back to Delhi. We then flew down to Cochin and there waiting where we were told was our next chauffeur Sreejith. Nothing was too much trouble for Sreejith, going out of his way to look after us, even arranging for our passports (which wd had left at he previous hotel) to be delivered to us which was a 4 hour bus journey each way. Every hotel that we stayed in wouldn't have been out of place in a European city. The food was fantastic and the range and breath of excursions and experiences were outstanding. Reading the blurb in England you tend to think "this is too good to be true" but not so. Citrus delivered everything that they said they would and then some. All I can say is that I highly, highly recommend them for your holiday and we will definitely be using them again

Just back from another brilliant Citrus holiday. We did the South India Odyssey tour and it exceeded our expectations. We were met at Bengaluru airport by our driver, Kannan. Throughout the whole trip he was unfailingly cheerful, punctual and a careful and safe driver. He made sure that everything on the itinerary was included and even found a couple of extra interesting places for us to see. We were a bit disappointed by the commercialism in Cochin, particularly around the fishing nets and felt that the hotel could have been better located although we did enjoy the pool there. Highlights were Wayanad Wild and the houseboat. The final three days unwinding at Isola Di Coco in Poovar were perfect. A relaxing massage and lovely backwater boat ride were included but undoubtedly the best thing was the outdoor shower room. Will never forget how it felt to look up at the kites in the morning and the stars at night. Once again thanks to all for looking after us so well and of course a special mention to Kannan who made it all run so smoothly

We booked a holiday with Citrus on a recommendation from a friend to northern India doing the Golden Triangle followed by a visit to Kerala. Dealing with Citrus as we tailored our holiday was easy and they were very proactive. There were minor issues with flight changes that were beyond there control but all was sorted to our satisfaction. We had a great holiday with two excellent drivers (north and Kerala) who looked after us throughout taking us from place to place. This was a holiday to remember. Thanks to Citrus and all your support staff. John & Linda Standen

Tour of Cambodia and Vietnam with Citrus Holidays. Solo Traveler. Just returned from a 10 day tour of Cambodia and Vietnam booked through Citrus holidays by Solo Travelers. We flew with Cathy Pacific from Gatwick to Hong Kong, then changed to Siam Rep. Our first hotel was fine. Our guide was very good. Then we left this hotel and started to travel to phnom penh, this was a very long journey on a coach. We all started to get a little stir crazy. Would of been good to have the day broken up with a visit to see something on route. To sit on a coach all day with just 2 toilet breaks is enough to drive anyone mad. The next day we left Phnom Penh to drive to Saigon. 11 hours this journey took, which didn't go down well with the days travel the previous day. When we reach the Vietnam boarder, no one told us the procedure. We were kicked of the coach and told to collect our luggage. We were told to hand our passports over and didn't know where the girl had gone with them. We then had to queue in a room with loads of other people for 2 hours not knowing what was going on, where our passports where. It was hot, nowhere to sit down. Tensions were running high. A very unpleasant experience. Would of been nice to have some communication to let us know what was going to happen. This holiday was a traveling endurance and I felt I was only seeing the my destination from a coach window on a main road. The final stop was Hanoi. It felt that we had been dumped in the biggest hole in Hanoi. Right next door to a night club which played its music really loud till 3am. I found it hard to hear my tv in my room. My room was clean but the hotel itself was tired and needed some work. It felt like a porn studio or a scene for a Quentin Tarantino film and they never end well. This hotel should be struck off. The countries were lovely and I'm glad I went but wish a did my homework on the tour itself and probably spent a bit more money on it.
