Southern India explorer tour with citrus holidays The Citrus package we bought was very good value, especially due to the, in general, very good quality hotels. The “Chauffeur tour” style was invaluable as a good safe way to experience India and our driver, Sree, for us, made the holiday special. The support of the local agency was excellent. If you want to experience the real India and you are willing to accept it with all its rough edges then this is the way to do it! You will spend very little money as all you need is included in the tour with the exception of a few lunches, that cost a few pounds, and some tip money but that is down to you. I had two shaves at local barbers one cost 55p and the other £1. The India that you see ranges from big cities to rainforest then the waterways and paddy fields to the beaches. The Indian people are warm and friendly. Citrus have handled the whole holiday really well and we are very happy with the experience and we give them a 5* rating.

I had been recommended Citrus Travel by a seasoned traveller I met earlier this year. I booked a holiday with them- the 10 day single traveller experience in Kerala ( I also extended it at the end with a 4 day trip to Goa). It was an incredible experience. I have never travelled on my own before so was quite anxious about it. I really shouldn’t have worried. I was met at the airport by our driver Antony who was very knowledgeable and informative. The hotels and food were fabulous; particular highlights were the houseboat cruise in the backwaters and the Ayurvedic resort, Isola di Cocos in Poovar. Citrus travel seem to have thought of everything in putting this holiday together. I was looked after very well and the transfer to Goa went smoothly too. The company were really keen to hear feedback and to know if anything needed to improve. I have no hesitation in giving Citrus 5 stars. It was simply a perfect holiday!

I travelled to Kerala with a group of girl friends and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We were met at the airport by our driver, he was brilliant. As a local he was the best guide and went out of his way to make our holiday special. Everything ran smoothly, the accommodation was really good, generally small guest houses with fantastic food, and the activities varied and enjoyable. The Keralan people are so nice and friendly. I have recommended both the company and the holiday to all my friends and will certainly travel with Citrus again.

Solo Cambodia and Vietnam tour Sept 2019. Overall an excellent experience on a historical, cultural and spirital trip. Mike, the agent I spoke with was very knowledgeable and able to answer any questions I had. The holiday was put together very well with guides there to great and take care of you at each connection point from airport greeting, bus travel, hotel check in and for tours included as well as to provide any local information required. I was a little worried about what the standard if hotels wod be like, they were all of a good standard, suitable for my needs and all centrally located for sights and amenities. Having breakfast included, some lunches was grest. The khmer dinner on the first night for the group to become acquainted was tasty, and excellent as we looked out for each other. All tours were interesting. Rain did not stop play as most tours were in the morning. Phnom Pehn one night stay did not allow time to really see or do anything as most things were closed by the time we arrived. Perhaps a list of things that could be done in that time could be provided with costs and directions so travellers can make better use of the late afternoon/early evening. Another option could have been to stay 2 nights and have one less night in Hanoi. The onward travel to Saigon added to a lot of travelling, sittinh with no exercise, I found this unhealthy. Saigon did not disappoint and was worth the travel. Hanoi, the boutique hotel room layout was a bit of a shock as all the other hotels exceeded my expectations in space, this hotel room was quite small and where i would stay for the most nights. The shower in the room was quirky, however, the shower was large, the room had all I needed and I soon got used to it and embraced it as a space feature of Hanoi. Staff in all hotels were helpful and friendly and the reasonably priced massages in Cambodia and Saigon were heavenly added to that, the complimentary foot massage and the ticket to the water puppet show were nice touches. Overall, this holiday is ranked as one of the best experiences I have had. I thank Citrus and Mike for a well put together itinerary. I would recommend Citrus, have booked a city break and will book another worldwide solo holiday with them.

Excellent holiday to Kerala! I am from Kerala but it was my husband's first trip to India so I wanted something that would give him the best first experience. Citrus Holidays packaging of the holiday was great but our driver Arun was the icing on the cake!! He made the whole experience excellent! Arun is extremely professional, attentive and very knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble for Arun and he went out of his way to ensure every day was made enjoyable by checking in with us what we wanted from the day. The journeys from each destination was very long, something that I hadn't taken on board properly, so we found them tiring so next time I would probably book longer at each destination so more time to unwind. The only disappointing hotel was the Hotel in Kochi (CGH Earth Hotel). This was our first hotel and unfortunately did not give you the feel of Kerala or its beauty. The food was not to the standard I would have expected for Kerala. The House Boat is a definite must when visiting Kerala - we loved this!! Our favourite hotel was the final one in Poovar - Isola Di Cocco. Definitely more than a 3 Star hotel. The food was outstanding, the service was outstanding and the hotel surroundings beautiful! So to sum up, we had a fantastic time and the trip was made very special by Arun!! Thank you Arun for all your help. You are fantastic in what you do!! You absolutely made this an amazing holiday.

Excellent holiday and organisation. Our Driver (Lali) was superb in every department. Kerela is a stunningly beautiful place and The tour takes in the best of it. I'll use Citrus Holidays again...they're brilliant@

My girlfriend and I were tentative at first booking a 16 day holiday to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand with a company we'd never heard of before and who deals exclusively over the phone. But I have to say it was one of the most incredible and best value trips that we've ever been on. I was slightly put off by the lack of paperwork we were sent prior to leaving the UK, but all transfers (bar one) were prompt and professional, and every tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The amount of activities included in the price was astounding, as well as all breakfasts and quite a few lunches and dinners. A particular highlight was the overnight cruise around Ha Long Bay. I would absolutely recommend Citrus and especially the Southeast Asia package.

Bali 2019 - poor customer service at the time of booking and when things went wrong during the holiday. Not impressed

We just returned from a 17 day 3 country, 4 city tour arranged for us by Citrus to our specifications. From the first phone call to the final preparations we received excellent advice and assistance. Citrus worked with us to set up our flights as well as all hotels and transfers. We requested changes to their recommended hotels as well as travel between Countries and those changes were done no problem. We would not hesitate to use and or recommend Citrus again. One suggestion when booking, Train transfer between locations was easy however we recommend that you request Citrus book reserved seating to avoid having to continuously move to find a seat when the person who had the one you are in boards at another station.

Update: 1 day prior to travel. Still no responses, no travel vouchers, which apparently should have been supplied or confirmation. Trips have been cancelled and not replaced with anything it’s a disaster. I will be updating later about the con on BA tickets prices and upgrades. But quite frankly that’s least of my worries right now. We have no idea what to expect or do on arrival and any times for the entire tour. There has been no communication at all. I just cannot believe how awful it is. Please if you are considering booking with them just don’t 24.09.2019 We have yet to go on our trip yet feel compelled to write a review. I’ve been travelling worldwide for 20 odd years, never ever have I come across such a completely incompetent company. Heed the warnings they are bordering on fraudulent. We are meant to travel to China next Wednesday and it’s one issue after another. They never respond and it’s quite frankly the worst experience I’ve ever had. I understand many of these good reviews are fake. DO NO USE THEM. You will be beyond stressed, uninformed, scared, yes scared. Due to their total incompetence I’m actually terrified of travelling. This is supposed to be a trip of a lifetime and I cannot think of a time I’ve been more upset and more stressed about something. Shame on you citrus you should be struck off from operating. I’m writing to the trading standards to investigate you.

We just got back from a trip to Peru and Machu Picchu. It was wonderful. Citrus was always prompt with answers to questions etc. Accommodations were really very nice. There were even little stops along the way that we weren’t aware would be part of the trip. Valencia Travels handled the tours, all transports and were wonderful. We would use Citrus again. Thanks everyone.

We have just returned from a trip to Kerala organised by Citrus holidays. Every single aspect of the trip was excellent and amazingly good value. The pre-holiday admin was smooth, efficient and well organised and staff responded promptly and helpfully to last minute changes. The tour itself was excellent - could not have asked for better. There was lots of variety within the tour, and the hotels we stayed in were more luxurious, hospitable and welcoming than we have ever experienced. We felt we were in very safe hands with Lalli, our personal driver, who was informative and very patient with us. Thomas, our amazing on-the-ground local coordinator rearranged our tour several times at an hour's notice to accommodate our changing needs and was unfailingly polite even though we caused him a lot of extra work. Every person we met associated with Citrus was extremely polite, helpful, and courteous.

We booked out Holiday at the Mar Alimuri hotel in Sorrento through Citrus Holidays and it didn't disappoint. It helped that the weather was superb but everything else helped to make it a five star week. The staff are friendly and accommodating, (I cannot thank them enough) we wanted for nothing! We were given bottles of wine or prosecco with dinner and lunch not just a glass and were never made to feel as if asking for what we wanted was out of their reach. The bar was well stocked with name brand drinks and the food was amazing at every sitting. Barbecue some nights, fresh pizza daily, amazing fish and a huge selection of salad and acompanyments. Ice cream on tap as well as snacks through there day. The room was bright and clean with an amazing view of the glistening Mediterranean. Sunset watching every night and 'albeit slightly cheesy' entertainment once the sun had gone down. A Bus leaves regularly to take you into Sorento Town and takes about 15 minutes. We dint use the SPA (there was no need) but it did look inviting...

We had a change of circumstances and Citrus were very accommodating in amending our booking.

Updated review of Citrus Holidays : Despite a poor review that Citrus took a week to acknowledge, and despite a promise that all can see was made to investigate, I have had NO communication from Citrus. All I can say is if you book with these, BEWARE!

Great trip to Italy. Well organized and good service (by Joseph) and great value. I would definitely use Citrus again and would recommend it.
