We have just returned from a holiday in the Golden Triangle and Kerala and have been really pleased with the overall organisation and value for money offered by Citrus. Overall, hotels, food and an am amazing range of activities made the holiday a memorable one. We had two really excellent drivers throughout our holiday, Rakesh in the north and Vinod in Kerala. Both were so kind, thoughtful and completely reliable. We felt so very safe and looked after with both. Vinod made every effort to make sure that we had whatever we needed for an enjoyable trip and was always so cheerful and patient if we wanted many stops to take photographs of the incredible scenery and butterflies. Hotels were all very good but we particularly liked the Tea Harvester in Munnar, which had stunning views from the room and where staff were so friendly and helpful, The night on the Backwaters with the Evergreen crew was another highlight, and we felt royally looked after and it was an utterly relaxing experience. Thank you Citrus for a great holiday. Lucy and Lisa

A ten night trip packed full of the sights and sounds of Kerala. Full attention from being collected to dropped off at the Airports, as a solo female traveller I felt safe and secure throughout. The hotels were clean, the food fabulous and staff friendly and helpful. Our driver was punctual, knowledgeable and helpful throughout. The Earth Hotel in Kochi was an experience as due to the Monsoon season, we were affected with lots of rain but smiling through was the order of the day. Simple but clean rooms with natural bathroom products available. A beautiful pool area and relaxing surroundings. The Grand Plaza in Munnar was truly marvellous - the staff both in the hotel and especially the restaurant really could not do enough to ensure we had a top stay. We were lucky enough to be treated to an early morning visit to the tea plantations - something not on offer to tourists ordinarily. The General Manager arranged transport, he talked through the natural flora, fauna and pointed out birds and wildlife as we walked. The history of the plantations was relayed, all rounded off with a snack and tea in the plantation social space, it was a joyful and emotional experience. The Wood Note in Thekkady was our next destination, set amongst beautiful flowers and greenery, the clouds touching the tops of the mountains. A quiet hotel, large airy modern rooms close to the Tiger Santuary, we enjoyed a boat trip taking photo's of the local wildlife and birds and taking in the fabulous scenery. Also enjoyed two performances in the town, the historic Kathakali martial arts and theatre shows - both exciting and interesting in their own unique way. On to Alleppey where we had a meal and an overnight stay on a houseboat, cruising through the mangroves witnessing local life on the waterways, the rice fields and stunning sunset. Finally, resting in the Isle de Coco beach resort. A bungalow where ayeuvedic treatment and yoga was available or just lounging by the pool taking advantage of the wonderful restaurant food - the spicy soups throughout this trip are a must! An extremely busy schedule, my only slight criticism would be the amount of time spent in the mini-bus travelling each day but, I can appreciate that this is necessary to cover the destinations visited. Photo opportunities galore on this trip - I would highly recommend booking this Solo trip to Kerala through Citrus Holidays

Amazing holiday. Good hotels, food and the countryside is absolutely beautiful. Our driver, Shteejith, was a good, safe driver who looked after us well, stopping if there was something that we wanted to do. Would highlyrecommend Citrus holidays.

I'm putting this review for our SOUTHERN INDIA EXPLORER TOUR with PRIVATE CHAUFFER in October 2019 with CITRUS Holidays. I will also be writing to compliment them for their fantastic service and excellent itenary. Everything went like clockwork and didn't feel rushed but when we discussed our day each evening over dinner we were amazed at how much we did and saw. We said it wasn't a 'holiday', more a jam packed cultural adventure and an Southern Indian experience that we will never forget, By far it is best holiday we had. We would like to thank our Chauffeur KANNAN for being so patient, understanding and heipful throughout our entire journey giving insights of local customs and places along the way. In future when we decide to take another South India Tour with Citrus we would only book with Citrus if they promise us to book 'KANNAN' as our Chauffeur and guide. I would also like to thank our local indian contact Mr.Pratheesh Thomas of Travel Bug for the support given to us when our flight was delayed, Right from my first enquiry with Annie at Citrus it was a brilliant experience and would surely recommend this tour.

I’ve just returned from a two week trip to Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam organised by Citrus Travel. I was a little apprehensive at first (no glossy brochures or swanky website) but there was no need to worry the trip was just amazing. My friend and I by choice packed quite a lot of sightseeing into our two weeks. Each time we moved on to a new location the transfers went like clockwork. whether it be by aeroplane, bus or boat. Our tour guides were very professional, the outings varied and interesting. The choice of hotels all 4 star. I will definitely be using Citrus Travel for future holidays. I can’t praise them enough.

We booked into the Kerala 10 day trip several months in advance of our trip to India. From the outset the company was fantastic with organising all the trips we wanted to do and responded immediately to any requests or changes we wanted to make. We had to do next to nothing in terms of organisation as Citrus had it covered! Not only this but we were going to Goa the week before for a wedding which made it a problem for flights but Citrus took care of all this and organised all the flights including and internal flight from Goa to Cochin at practically no extra cost! On arrival it was so much better than we expected! Our driver Sreekanth (Sree) was waiting for us, clearly signed. He was a fantastic driver, guide and company as we had some pretty long journeys between hotels/ cities. All of the hotels were amazing as were the activities. Our favourites included the Martial arts show (kalaripayattu), the Periyar boat trip and the Jeep Safari in Munnar. (The jeep safari was optional and arranged by Sree which we were very grateful for!) The houseboat was also amazing and we couldn’t fault it. Pepper county Hotel in Thekkady was an extra special place as the owner was so warm and welcoming, even bringing fresh fruit from the garden to our room! On one day we arrived at the heritage bungalow which was fully booked and there had been some miscommunication with Citrus who had booked us into another hotel. However there was no problem as it was sorted immediately and whilst the phone calls were being made we were given a free cardamon factory tour and a small room to freshen up and relax in! We would fully recommend this holiday and Sree as a driver! Thanks for everything Citrus Bethany and James Cassidy

first time we used citrus for a south america tour, 16 days 10 flights lots of airport /hotel transfers and tours lots of potential things to go wrong but thankfully we had an amazing trip everything went smoothly apart from a 12 hour outward flight delay that was not citruses fault and the brazil arrangements left a bit to be desired we had to do the chasing.

Booking our holiday was straightforward but unfortunately the customer service since then responding to queries and providing clarification etc has been far from straightforward and very frustrating.

Dear Citrus team , Following our recent holiday to Turkey on the Turkish Gulet from Maramis, 4th - 11th October. . We were very disappointed with nearly everything about our holiday apart from our flights with Turkish airlines, who were a lovely airline to fly with. We did have a 4 hour wait at Istanbul each way but that was because of the Thomas Cook problem. Regarding our Gulet cruise. The boat crew, although very friendly, didn't really understand English so it was very difficult to discuss things with them. When we asked each day what was happening / where we going to go, either they didn't know or weren't capable of informing us. The most common question, that we needed to know on a daily basis was, how long we had to do various activities and how long before our next stop etc. There was a tour guide who appeared for about 10-15 mins on the first day before we left Maramis who gave us a very brief outline of our holiday, but this didn't include very much detail. The holiday was booked on a Full Board Basis but unfortunately they didn't understand what Full Board included. Full Board should include (I have been to over 70 countries in the world so I have had plenty of experience), breakfast, lunch and dinner with drink options of tea, coffee, juice and water only at meal times but no other options such as soft drinks or alcohol at any time. Breakfast, 8.00-9.30 no option of having a later breakfast. At breakfast, we only received Tea and Coffee, but unfortunately both my wife and myself only drink water with lemon or maybe juice but usually just water. There was also 2 children on board although not with us but the boat crew still didn't offer them any other choice. The breakfast meal consisted every day without any changes of egg, french bread (not Turkish) 2 types of rubbery cheese, (the same each day) green or black olives, plus honey and jam. The coffee wasn't Turkish coffee but cheap Nescafe instant coffee. I have attached a photo Lunch 13.00-13.30. At lunch, although there was a very slight change in the food served it was basically a salad with either a vegetable or pasta dish. NO DRINKS included / served, no coffee, no tea no water no juice. Afternoon tea 16.00-16.30 Afternoon Tea / Coffee break in the middle of the afternoon, which included cake but again no option of water or juice. Dinner 7.30-8.00 Dinner was the only meal where any meat was served (which didn't worry me as I am a pescetarian) but I felt very sorry for the meat eaters. NO DRINKS served with dinner, no tea no coffee, no water, no juice. The crew had plenty of water on board but we couldn't have any of it unless we paid for it ! No juice onboard, even if you wanted to pay for it ! We were forced to drink the tap water from our bathroom which really was just for brushing out teeth. I worked out that with the amount of water we usually drink on a daily basis and probably more because it was hot weather, it would have cost us an extra £45 each for the week, added to our already paid for Full Board costs. Some guests (not us) were buying beer instead of paying for water, which meant 3 or 4 of them became ill, with the lack of hydration. Regarding our food onboard the boat. We were looking forward to lovely Turkish meals on the boat as we often visit Turkish restaurants in London and really enjoy Turkish cuisine. We were never once served lovely Turkish bread but instead horrible cheap French stick that you can purchase in Tesco's. When we docked at a port twice during our cruise, we were easily able to buy proper Turkish bread. I have attached a photo. We were never served nice Turkish cheese but again only cheap rubbery cheese, which was normally left on the table when the meal had finished. I have attached a photo. We were never served a lovely Turkish Mezze. ALL the food was done on a shoestring budget, almost like it was a competition to see how cheap they could do it. We have had such horrible, limited food options anywhere else in the world. You are served better food in poorer countries like Africa, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and India. Regarding our transfers. The transfer driver from Dalaman airport was obviously a trainee racing driver as he had no regard for the speed limits nor the comfort of his passengers. I think he must have been late for another pickup or just in a hurry to get home. My wife closed her eyes and sat there terrified for 80mins, The transfer driver returning us back to Dalaman airport was obviously a professional racing driver as he cut every corner on all types of road just like a racing driver taking the shortest possible curve. He also had no regard for the speed limits nor the comfort of his passengers and started at a dangerously fast speed from our harbour pickup (60-70kph) through Marmaris town centre narrowly missing a local taxi. When he reached the tight bends of the dual carriageway just outside of the town, he really put his foot hard to the floor and didn't seem to know how to slow down. Even though we had our seat belts on and hanging on to the door handles it was impossible to stay still in our seats. I asked him twice to slow down but he paid no attention to my request. My wife closed her eyes again and sat there terrified for 59mins, which shows how fast he was travelling to do the journey in under 80mins. We were both very traumatised by the journey. I have driven a rally car on very fast off road muddy circuits but I would never drive a road vehicle at those speeds without a crash helmet and roll cage. His speed varied from between high to very high 120-160kph depending on the width of the road. Even at the airport, with road speed signs of 20kph he continued at over 50kph. He obviously had a death wish but that shouldn't include his passengers. Only twice did he slow down, but that wasn't out of choice, he had no option. This was at a set of red lights, which after approaching it at full speed, he had to basically do an emergency stop because the lights stayed red and then later he caught up with a lorry going through some road works at 50kph, even though the speed limit was signposted at 30kph through the roadworks. The lorry was actually going to fast according than the road signs indicated but our driver decided to flash the lorry driver and looked to see if he could drive between the traffic cones. Luckily he didn't drive through the cones but he was so close to the lorry, anybody else looking at us would have thought we were being towed by the lorry ! I have attached four photos of the cheap food served and the lack of choice as it was basically the same each day, apart from the vegetable dish at lunch and the meat dish at dinner. I look forward to your reply with great interest. Regards, Steve Allchin

What an experience Kerala was, the city of Kochi was exciting and vibrant, the cooking class was brilliant. Our journey through the tea and cardamom plantations was mind blowing, the whole experience came together as I driver Kittan was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️And took care of us all whilst travelling through this colourful country. We ended up in Kovalam for 3 days of r&r before I trip home. Well done to all who made our vacation a memorable one

I booked my second holiday via Citrus travel, exploring the state of Kerala. We were greeted at the airport by our guide and driver Lali who pretty much stayed with us throughout our two week, journey. Firstly, I can't thank Lali enough for his competence, charm and great sense of fun when exploring Kerala. It felt more like having a welcomed brother!! The itinerary organised for us was varied and gave us a real insight into the Keralan way of life. All the places we stayed in were clean, well staffed with with local food prepared that was out of this world. There were many magical experiences from staying in a houseboat, cooking with Maria, visiting Kanya kumari that are indelibly seared into my memory. As a fellow India, it exposed me to the richness and diversity of this culture and created a longing to come back and explore more parts of India. A big thank you once again to Lali and Citrus travel. Punam x

We have just returned from our first holiday in India organised by Citrus Holidays. It was fabulous. We had 5 days doing the Golden Triangle. Our driver Pradeep was excellent, very safe in the traffic chaos! We had guides in 3 cities. Exceptional in Jaipur and Agra. Not so good in Delhi. In Kerala our driver was Vishwa, he was amazing, very thoughtful and extremely knowledgable. Everything worked like clockwork. The hotels were all very good. The exception was the Casino Hotel in Kochi. It was a little soul less and the food was not so good. I don't want to complain because in all the holiday was 5 star. They had thought of everything. Yoga sessions, massages, theatre visit I loved the cookery lesson in Kochi, the stay on the houseboat, and on the plantations. Lovely to relax in hotel for the last 3 nights. Thank you Shulhul, our point of contact in Delhi. There is a lot of travelling, but so exciting and so time passes quickly. Kerala is open for business after the flooding last year. They are beautiful people and make you so welcome.

The trip I took to Peru was great, some minor issues with the tour and a couple of the hotels. My main problem with Citrus is that they messed up the pick up from the airport to our hotel in Lima. No one was there to greet us and after contacting the local tour group, we were told to take a taxi and to save our receipt and that we would be reimbursed. After over a week into our vacation, the local tour company said it was Citrus that would reimburse us and that we would need to contact them directly. So, I did, I was promised a refund on my credit card a month ago and I still haven't received it. I have sent several emails asking when the refund will show up on my card and I keep getting told that it will be processed shortly. I will not be booking anything with this company again. Update: After my initial posting on Oct 16, Citrus asked for my booking number, 2 weeks later they tell me they're going to contact me. Worst customer service ever! And still no refund as they promised me 6 weeks ago! Update 2: I finally received my refund.

We have just returned from the 10 day India Golden Triangle tour including the Ranthambore tiger safari, the unbelievably beautiful Taj Mahal rounding it off with a 5 day extension at a beachside hotel in Goa. Citrus Holidays are ultimate professionals and fulfil every part of their itinerary to the highest standard. This is our second tour with them having done Cambodia and Vietnam last year. On both tours we had excellent drivers and tour guides offering a wealth of local and historic knowledge. Yet again our entire tour ran like clockwork with no element of it feeling forced or rushed with flexibility to divert from the schedule if necessary. We could not fault the accommodation reserved for us in the various destinations. The thoughtful unexpected complimentary romantic meal for 2 on our last evening was a lovely touch and gratefully received. Citrus Holidays offer a very high level of customer service and go out of their way to make you feel like a VIP tourist from the first to the last day of your tour. They are a 5* holiday company and I would have no hesitation in recommending them for any future adventures you may be considering.

We were met by our chauffeur at Bangalore airport and he was with us throughout the trip. Dropping us at the train and houseboat and waiting for us at the other end . Very polite and efficient service. The trip itself encompassed the real India and all the hotels were excellent Our favorite being the CGH Earth at Wayanad. Deep in the jungle the service there was exceptional and we particularly enjoyed the cookery demonstration and the morning afternoon and evening treks where we saw a variety of snakes frogs and spiders. The tour itself was very varied and covered a wide and diverse area through Mysore Kochi and Kerala but we loved every minute of it especially the last 3 nights in the beautiful resort at Poovar on the Arabian Sea for a well earned relax. For those people worried about the earlier floods in Kerala, don’t be. Hotels have suffered with cancellations but they are very much up and open for business waiting to show you the beauty of India. I would definitely recommend citrus and use them again 😁

Hi Customer Care - still waiting for a response following your invitation 2 weeks ago and my email. "Just had a holiday through Citrus Holidays who booked us into a so called 5 star hotel in Sorrento. No window in room which was very poor as was the hotel with limited food options. Then they booked us on a flight which had 5kg of baggage do we were forced to pay 50 euros to return. What a shambles and a complete lack of customer service. Avoid this shower at all costs. Usually book things myself and will certainly do that again from here on."
