I tried to rearrange my holiday on medical grounds, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. I had to write three emails before this was done, it was a stressful time, so didn’t need more stress because of the holiday. It was eventually rearranged for October, but had to pay an extra £208.00. Wasn’t pleased that we had to pay more money, for a six day holiday in Sorrento.

Our first experience booking a package with Citrus Holidays has been positive in every sense. From the initial contact with representative, Rodney, all questions were addressed, all supplementary requests were delivered upon and all correspondence, both email and phone, was clear, concise and timely. All very professionally handled. In short order we received the relevant documentation, including detailed itinerary, payment receipt and airline e-tickets. We are optimistic the actual holiday will unfold in a manner which meets, perhaps even exceeds, our expectations . . . Stay tuned.

I have to start with that I was really worried and sceptical about Citrus, probably because of their website, which appears a bit low profile and probably because of the way some of their agents communicate, however we booked with them at the end, they gave us a good price and we saw so many good reviews! Some of their agents are really professional and friendly others can be pushy and bit disturbing, in l means they did a good job. We did Bangkok, Phuket, Dubai trip- all transfers were spot on, as well as the tickets and all docs they had to provide, the whole part they were responsible for went really smoothly and would consider booking with them again! I would like to thank the team and organisation of Citrus for the good job from their end! I’d advise the first timers long disntnace holiday travellers to take into consideration time difference adaptation, at least 3 full days without any plans just taking in the time difference! I’d think that’s something Citrus could also advise to their first timers, often people don’t realise it till they experience it.

We did the southern India tour with Citrus Holidays and it was really a great experience. It was a full itinerary but everything went smoothly to plan: the hotels were top-notch, our driver Prince was a complete star, and India itself is amazing! Thank you Danny at Citrus.

We have just returned from an amazing Southern India touring holiday. All the staff at Citrus have been really helpful from the initial booking right through to the end. Our driver, Sreejith especially so. Our initial flight was delayed so we missed our connecting flight but to our great relief Sreejith was waiting for us having kept an eye on all the flight changes. Unfortunately I was ill on day 3 and unable to travel but again Citrus were very helpful. They changed the bookings so we could stay an extra night before moving on. Sreejith made himself available all day in case I needed further help. He was also very considerate of the pace we kept over the next few days trying to balance keeping as much as possible to the itinerary while making sure I could cope physically. Despite losing a day we still managed to do almost everything as originally planned. I particularly appreciated Srejith’s willingness to stop along the way to allow me to take photos where no stop had been planned. As a result I have some wonderful pictures. The standard of accommodation was excellent even where hotels had been changed. The overnight stay on a houseboat was particularly outstanding. The boat was a 6 berth but we had it and the 3 staff all to ourselves. The staff were very knowledgeable about the different birds and all the riverside activities we passed. They pointed things out all along the way. Talking to others on similar trips we seemed to have had a particularly friendly and knowledgeable crew. The standard of food on the boat was the best of the whole trip. Would happily book another Citrus holiday.

Our Southern India trip was all it made out to be. Citrus had it all well organised. Excellent varied itinerary. Hotels were very good standard with very friendly staff and good buffet food. Driver was very competent and professional and did all he could to ensure we had a good holiday experience

We had a memorable tour of a Southern India mainly thanks to the quality of our driver and tour guide Abhilash. He was so helpful and knowledgeable, and had good English and a good sense of humour. The fact that Citrus will make changes to their suggested itinerary is also refreshing, and we even made changes during the tour. All the arrangements they made worked well. No hesitation in recommending them.

Good advice from well informed staff - able to answer all of my questions clearly. Email questions answered within a day or so. Complicated itinerary and last minute changes all dealt with without any problems (everything went like clockwork!). Tour guides all good/excellent. Hotels all well chosen and as described. On tour, our Citrus contact (Mr Louis) called us a number of times to check that all was well. Tour guides also reminded us of the arrangements for the next stage of the holiday so we never felt nervous. Other Citrus holidaymakers who we met at different points on our travels had similar 5* experiences of the company - none had anything but praise for Citrus. One extra that stood out was the complimentary bottle of very nice wine we received in our cabin on the Halong Bay cruise - no other passengers had one (but they were not booked through Citrus). No hesitation in booking our next adventure through Citrus - amazing experience, hassle free and great value for money.

We have recently returned from our very special Citrus tour of Kerala and the superb organisation of the tour exceeded our expectations. Our driver Lali took great care of us on the long journeys in between the various destinations. An excellent driver and a lovely caring man, he ensured that we saw and experienced anything of interest along the way. Our accommodation and food was very acceptable and the overnight houseboat stay at Appelley was enchanting, followed by the last four days in Poovar which was a lovely relaxing end to this magical holiday. We returned yesterday from our Golden Triangle tour and cannot speak highly enough about the company and experience we have had.We were met at the airport in Delhi by our driver Mr Ghanshyam Mahto who remained with us for the entire tour .He was polite and courteous and nothing was too much trouble for him .Our guides each day were also polite and very knowledgeable about the monuments and places that we were visiting. I would definitely recommend Citrus holidays and look forward to travelling with them again in the future. Mohammad

10 Day Kerala Tour - booked on a whim via Travel Zoo, about 9 months before departure. Slightly uneasy when I read some of the reviews about this company as we’d never used them before. Became more uneasy when our flights were changed four times prior to departure, once paying an extra £20 each ‘for a better carrier’ only for it to be changed a further two times to a different one. However, having now completed the trip we have nothing but praise for what we consider to be a very well thought through itinary which was executed beautifully. Flights were great. Our driver Subeech, was very professional, eager to please and always bang on time. We didn’t upgrade anything, but every type of hotel/accommodation was of a very high standard. The Tea Plantation’s beautiful location in Munnar blew us away. The Homestay in Thekkady, Pepper County was so much more than we’d expected. But the jewel in the crown for us was the overnight stay on the houseboat in Alleppey which was exceptional. An absolutely beautiful experience we didn’t want to end. Wonderful food, spotlessly clean, bedroom with an en suite bathroom with tons of hot water and powerful shower, attentive staff of three for the two of us. We couldn’t have wished for more. The two hotels either end of the trip had large swimming pools in which to kick back and relax pre and post flights. Having said that the pool at the Isoladicco Beach Resort does need some attention as it’s small sharp tiles are coming off cutting a woman’s foot whilst we were there. Very accommodating though when allocating us an additional room to allow for a late departure time which we appreciated. The sheduled excursions we took were varied and interesting. Loved our cooking class with Maria. Tickets provided were always for the best seats. We’d have preferred a bit more time in Old Cochin, but appreciate that individual schedules sometimes doesn’t allow for that. Even the journeys (approx 4 hours each trip) we enjoyed. Our driver, once having established what we preferred doing, would individualise our road trips within the time constraints of getting from A to B. It does appear that everyone’s itinary varies slightly according to flight times, date of arrival (some things are closed) hotel availability, and whether or not you choose to upgrade. All we can say is that in our case it all worked perfectly and we wouldn’t hesitate to use Citrus Holidays again.

Just returned from an excellent trip to southern India. The trip was well organised, our driver Vishwamithran was excellent and looked after us very well. Kerala is very much open for business after the floods last year. The people helped each other and everything was back to normal within weeks. There is so much to see in this beautiful part of India but you would miss so much without the help of a knowledgeable local driver. Some of the highlights of the tour were the trip to the tiger reserve where we saw wild elephants, the steam train ride in Ooty, the nature walks in Wayanad Wild and the backwater houseboat trip in Aleppey. We would recommend this tour very highly. Excellent value.

I can't say enough good things about our experience on the tour. Exceeded my already high expectation. This was a life-affirming once in a lifetime experience that created special memories that me a my mum (travelling partner) will cherish for the rest of our days. It is such good value for money and so seamlessly organised we constantly wondered how they manage to bring it in on the budget. It was perfectly paced and we had star treatment all the way with personal tour guides and private cars all the way, much the contrary to my image of a tour holiday. Recently returned from India taking in The Golden Triangle and Kerala Private Tour with Citrus. In the main the tour was everything we expected, however we didn’t get our travel documents and vouchers until less than two weeks before our departure. These documents also contained information we should have had for our visa applications! The Golden Triangle tour was an eye opening experience in many ways! From magnificent Forts, Temples, Mausoleums to local fauna and flora? Then came the Kerala private tour. After landing at Kochi Airport, there was no sign of our driver. By good fortune we got chatting to a couple who were also touring with Citrus, so with the aid of their driver we found out that our driver had broken down and we had to get a taxi to our accommodation! The next day our driver Laiju arrived introduced himself and our Kerala tour took off to a flying start. We found Kerala to be beautiful and very scenic! While driving along it was very pleasant to take in local scenery and wildlife. Our itinerary met all our expectations, the highlights being Peynar Wildlife reserve and The Elephant experience. With regard to accommodation, all our hotels were of a good standard, while Wi-fi In most was good UDS resort was very poor. We were a bit disappointed with the Houseboat and wished we’d have upgraded as the bathroom was ancient and the taps to the shower where almost seized up. The staff in all hotels were polite, friendly and helpful. UDS hotel in Kovalam particularly helpful when trying to find out our pick up time for our departure, as this was not confirmed by Citrus? We have got to say how good our driver Laiju was. First and foremost he was always punctual, he kept his car in pristine condition everyday, each evening he would go over the itinerary for the next day, including pickup times. His command of English was excellent and communicated very well, his knowledge of places of interest at our various destination was good and informative. Beside that he was a very good and considerate driver. We would recommend these tours, in general they are very good value for money but look carefully at some of the upgrades offered!
