Can't recommend this place enough. I had the Lasik procedure at the Manchester clinic, where I was made to feel comfortable throughout the stay, which was less then 90mins from start to finish! Mike, the surgery manager, was particularly helpful and made me feel at ease. Similarly, the consultation and after care undertaken at the Liverpool clinic was brilliant. All staff were really friendly and approachable. At the check up the next day, my vision was already better than 20/20. My only regret is that I didn't do this sooner, my prescription was really high, so it's been life changing!

Its definitely a life changing experience. I'm on day 10 post surgery. My left eye seems to be healing slower and gets more dry quicker, resulting in blurry vision. My vision has good days and bad days. Yesterday my left eye seemed perfect and didn't feel lazy, but today it's back to feeling heavy, lazy and slightly blurred. I got worried on day 7 and had my eyes checked and the left eye was slightly weaker but they explained that could be that the eye is still healing and should correct itself come the month post op check. So time will tell

200 St Vincent street, Glasgow. From the reception to the assistants to the nurses ans surgeons on the first floor this company is the absolute top class, they are more than professional, gold stars are not enough to explain how efficient they are. The pre and post operation customer service puts all others to shame, brilliant. All your fears are quashed by their professional kindness. Make this your choice for cataract surgery, you cannot go wrong.

If only I could score no stars I would. I’m writing this review on behalf of my partner who had his lens replacement surgery last year. The operation wasn’t a success and it has had a significant impact on his mental health. His eyes are sore and he has headaches everyday from eye strain. He has attempted to make contact on numerous occasions awaiting promised returned calls and nothing. Various emails have been sent and unless you raise a complaint there are no replies. But even after one reply from a complaint again nothing. The cost of the operation is significant and when it’s failed their lack of customer services is just disgraceful. In 2025 more care should be given for mental health. Especially when my partner has opened up and share this with them I’m only writing this for anyone else considering surgery to think this through, as if it fails, which I appreciate may be a small chance. That follow up care is really poor. Yet again, my partner is awaiting contact and was promised a call/email within the next 48 hours. That passed days ago and still no response. Really poor customer services and care. **UPDATE** 05.04.2025 I contacted customer services on the 03.04.2025 and spoke to a very helpful Amy. She said she could understand how disappointing this was and the impact on my partners mental health. She then agreed to ring my partner to confirm that she would be looking into the case and would ring him on the 04.04.2025. At this point we both felt hopeful. However, Amy didn’t call on the Friday. Anita did from the Birmingham office and said that the ongoing treatment wouldn’t be paid for. Unless, my partner paid an additional £4,800!!!!!! He clearly challenged this and Anita said that’s the decision. My partner then called head office and was told the case is still under review and someone would be back in touch at some point next week. Yet again poor customer services, left hanging for another call. Being told on a Friday before the weekend, there will be a further £4,800 cost to get his eyesight to where it should be. The total price would be nearly £12,000. This is outrageous and so upsetting. It’s been such a mental and emotional journey and we certainly do not have a further £4,800 to pay. Surely just one person should have this to deal with. Take into account the mental anguish it is causing and help.

I arrived on time for my appointment at Optical Express, Trafford Centre, yet I ended up waiting in the waiting area for over half an hour. Despite my punctuality, the optometrist called my name, and then the manager, Raheel, allowed a late-arriving customer to cut in the queue—resulting in even longer waiting times for me. What kind of manager does this? I feel that he shows clear racial bias by favoring white customers over Asian customers. No diversity in the store staff neither says it all. Filed a complaint over the phone immediately but probably won’t even have any impact on the manager! Avoid at all cost!

Game changer life changer ! From the very next day I could read message on my phone of which I could not previously, staff at Chelmsford made me feel so and ease and talked me through everything I’m 3wks in and loving my new lease of life thankyou so much.

Absolutely amazing experience. I have worn glasses all my life and remain someone who isn’t a candidate for laser surgery. Due to recent developments I was a candidate for cataracts surgery and didn’t understand how I would experience the significant improvement that the various clinicians and optometrists assured me would happen since they would be treating a condition that had only manifested in the last couple of years. The professionalism, patience and knowledge displayed by every member of staff I spoke with was second to none. I have a background in the NHS and it’s traditional to look slightly askance at private healthcare for a number of reasons. At no point was there any feeling of upselling or focusing on profit. Instead Graham actively encouraged me to delay making a decision on follow up surgery for my second eye until we could be absolutely sure it was needed. They are patient focused and I am absolutely confident have nothing but the patient’s interests at heart. I was nervous the day of the procedure but the two hour lead up while they checked and double checked all was looking as positive as it could be for a successful outcome one was the worst part. The procedure was absolutely painless and actually quite relaxing when focusing on what turned out to be an amazing light show as three lights shone into your eyes and quickly exploded into a silent fireworks display of purple, white and violet. I want to stress, no pain and unless your surgeon tells you what’s going on you have no awareness of anything but the beautiful lights. I experienced no discomfort during, after or the next morning before my follow up appointment. The gratitude and amazement I felt when Graham asked me to read off the letters on the board across the room and I effortlessly read the top line - which I couldn’t do with glasses on my initial consultation - and then read the bottom line mostly correctly (which I have never been able to do) is difficult to put into words. This was much less than twenty four hours after the surgery and still seems nothing short of miraculous. Thank you so much Neve, Katie, Vicky, Graham, Erin, the amazing surgeon who performed such an incredible procedure, the lovely nurse who had lost her voice and the wonderful follow up Irish clinician who was so fantastic and full of the craic as she took me through aftercare. I’m sorry I was too overwhelmed at the time to make a note of all your names. It’s no exaggeration to say this has been life changing and if I could I would have the other eye done tomorrow but, thanks to the ultra professional and knowledgable Graham, will patiently wait and see how things are after a month or so to make a decision. In the meantime I will revel in the fact that I now drive safely, glasses free, as told at my first consultation, my balance has improved and that I can now take my dogs out for a walk and properly monitor them when they’re off lead. Thank you all at Glasgow clinic (and I’m sorry if I missed off any names), you’ve been incredible.

Too expensive compared to other providers. I'm staggered at the price difference on like for like. Visit to clinic went well enough and procedures adequately explained.

I was recommended by a friend to go and see Optical express, he’d had lens replacement with them and was very pleased with the process and treatment and said I should give them a try. I had already sought another consultation and paid for it privately, however when I got the quote through it was nearly £2,000 more than I was expecting! I know that not always paying more gives you better results, however, when dealing with your eyesight, it’s a decision I didn’t take lightly! I cannot fault Optical express with the professionalism, efficiency I have experienced throughout the whole process, the Chester team were extremely friendly, the optometrist I saw there for my initial review and consultation was very thorough and I left feeling like I was in safe hands. I was sold! Every appointment was booked and information given…a very slick process. After wearing glasses for 8 years with the frustrations of not being able to see properly, along with not finding my glasses, breaking them, I have now got my eyesight back! Truly life changing and I would recommend this procedure to anyone. Thank you Optical express. HS

From start to finish my laser eye surgery experience has been fantastic. The staff at the white rose store are attentive and super friendly. My vision within 24 hours was better than 20/20. Highly recommended.

I give it 1 star only because I have to to write this review. I was told several times on the phone to optical express sales team, that I would have 20/20 vision for life, I treble checked this and she said yes each time. On that basis, I booked an appointment. The consultation was free unless I cancelled or changed it. I get a call from optimax a few days later where a different person tells me it's impossible to give 20/20 vision for life as the eye ages, which is what I originally thought until the initial sales consultant told me differently. I sent emails back and forward to manager of the place I was booked in with, and wanted a straight answer otherwise there was no point in me coming for any less than I was promised. I wasn't really getting anywhere so I went anyway otherwise it would have cost me £50. On getting there the price has doubled almost from the quote I had on the phone ( there was no "from" £2000 it was only a straight 2000 per eye), weirdly enough, when he gave me the the correct price and I said " that's double and way out of my price range", he says " well I'm not here to talk prices I'm here to talk about surgery"... Even though he just told me the price.....strange 🤔 . It's gets better, when I said this is almost double what I was quoted the consultant replied, "well I'm not the one who spoke to you on the phone, so that's nothing to do with me"...erm an apology would of been nice! From start to finish it was a big mistake. I could say more but I'm not going to give this anymore of my time. I certainly will not be going anywhere near optical express ever again! Seems like a con.

Absolutely brilliant service quite unexpected really. From the pre appointment contact to the eye test completion. Michael, Donna and Mary professional, friendly and welcoming. Explained all tests being on several state of the art machines and Mary was fantastic with her results and genuine out come diagnosis. Can't recommend more.

I was one of many thousands offered free lifetime aftercare which Optical Express are refusing to honour. A year later my daughter also had laser surgery, also on the basis of the guarantee of free life time aftercare and Optical Express refuse to honour that as well. Different branch, different city, same free aftercare, same refusal. AVOID See the inadequate response. I have already tried to pursue this. There are thousands of people with the same refusal of aftercare. I wasn't given any contract to keep - only to sign. And it's not the current terms that are relevant, it's the sales pitch and terms offered to me at the time to persuade me to choose Optical Express over other providers. Free lifetime aftercare made it a no trainer. Except it was a scam

At every step, the level of care and attention to detail from the Optical Express Team was so reassuring. From the start, they gave me the confidence to proceed with my Lens Replacement surgery and the results have exceeded my highest expectation. Within hours, I was reading small print again without aid and seeing the world with vibrant colour and clarity that I had forgotten existed. I would recommend Optical Express to my friends and family without hesitation.
