United Kingdom | 29 March 2025Iwent to the Harlow store In February buy a bed with mine wife.We chosen super king size beige ottoman bed.The person we was dealing was Holly. Mine wife told her specifikly that we wanna beige color. After 3 weejs them delivery the bed but in silver colour.We call the customer servise they advised to as to go back to the store.Went to the store the guy said that he will fix the problem. After anotther 3 weeks they bring the bed but the samé one what l had already in silver colour. West back to the store and Holly make as feel that we dont know the diference between beige and silver colour. She and the other person were very pushing and trying make as feel very bed.We cancel allow the orders but they said that we are not getting our deposit back.So they kept mine £570 and ruín mine Credit score. Never will go back and buy something from benson bed.

United Kingdom | 29 March 2025There is a chip in the headboard. One of the drawer runners was missing but I eventually found it tucked inside the bed between the wooden frame. Another drawer runner was hanging off. I have managed to sort the drawer runners myself but I expect the headboard to be replaced.

United Kingdom | 29 March 2025We purchased a double igel mattress for £1299 last September (delivered October). The 40 day trial is not sufficient for this mattress, I was questioning the bad effects on my neck and shoulders by Christmas (I felt too much like I was sinking in with my hips), spent £200 buying pillows believing that such an expensive bed, recommended by Bensons sales as being better than memory foam could not be the cause. We had never slept on either type before. My well tested pillows did not turn out to be the cause. Moving to our spare (much cheaper) coil mattress greatly eased the problem by morning. I tested this a few times because I want to present a very real and honest picture of my experience. Bensons for Beds will not enter into written comment on any experience even when they have invited you via email to tell them of your experience via Whats App and email 5 months after purchase and beyond the trial period, other than to question you. This makes me very distrustful of their after sales processes - there is no aftercare! A lunch time phone call was not enough in my opinion to review from my 7 photos and written explanation to show my concerns. I explained we had to purchase a mattress with delivery next day online that week because I could no longer sleep on it. We had moved the mattress off the bed on the morning of this one and only customer services phone call (28 March) and whilst it was standing ready for us to move it in readiness for the new one we noticed how the mattress had a huge saggy, squashable bulge in it. I offered a photo but the customer services operative said that it was normal (as was the 2.5 cm dip which I thought my problem was stemming from) and she said it would settle when horizontal. Her adamant attitude made me put the phone down. I have heard nothing since and still there is a reluctance to communicate in writing even though I was upset. Looking back, the sales service was inadequate from the start by testing different surface levels on a demo bed that led us to believe that changing from our 3 year old firm mattress to a medium would be beneficial. We were shown memory foam mattresses and told the igel mattress was superior. No explanation of the mattress's cooling properties which seems the main selling point online (not our main objective) and which I believe could be the basis of my problem when sleeping due to its lack of support (the part that bulges profusely when the mattress is placed on its side. No discussion of sleeping positions regarding mattresses and I have learned a lot from online mattress companies when I was forced due my soreness and pain and unhealthy lack of sleep to buy a new one this week. There were a lot of medium firm mattresses online (I have read these are often preferred by hotels) but there was no mention of them at Bensons which would have been a brilliant suggestion for a couple choosing to move from a firm mattress (3 years old) and and for somebody who changes position during sleep. Its ok writing a review immediately after purchase, you feel good, optimistic. But buyer beware that this is not the end of the story. Our new mattress has a hundred day trial and after this experience I wouldn,t purchase a mattress without this and I wouldnt purchase from Bensons for Beds. The lack of a satisfactory customer service response seems to me to be designed to discourage people from presenting their unfortunate experiences in a way that they can keep a clear head and present a fair exchange which leads to a fair outcome where the customer has an account of how the outcome has been reached.

Andy (store manager) was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process and I couldn’t recommend him more. Unfortunately my bed was due to be delayed by 4 weeks but I called Andy and he managed to minimise the delay significantly so that I only had to wait an extra 2 days. A huge thank you to Andy for all of his help!
