Special mention to the in store sales team member who spoke like a normal human to us instead of the scripted style of a competitor. We were also listened to in Bensons for Beds. Consequently finding the mattress that was right for us was a pleasurable and straightforward experience which came as a wonderful surprise to us. Exeter store thank you!

United Kingdom | 11 April 2025Firstly the review would be 0 if it was allowed. Purchased a bed frame and mattress late December for agreed delivery late March for moving into a new home. This was crucial as we only intended to furnish one room so the date was non negotiable. On the move in date no bed arrived, called to see when it was coming as we had received no communication about delivery time only to be told that it was not coming until 22/4 (due to a computer processing error when we changed the date from a feb to March delivery). Only options provided was to wait - when I asked about cancelling as not happy with new date was told it would incur a 20% reduction in the refund. (what about the interest they have had for almost 4 months) but I agreed to wait as following a complaint to the CEO office a new delivery date of 9/4 was agreed and we uplifted a display mattress on loan so we could at least sleep on the floor of our new home (not the ideal start but better than nothing). so again we wait. On 8/4 email arrives to state bed not coming until 22/4, no call just a bog standard email (very poor service given that it was on a “complaint tracker”). Given this was already on someone’s radar a courtesy call would be at the very least expected, so we called again, offered a replacement bed which we were told was in stock, we agreed to take a look and get back to them, when we called the next day to agree to the replacement bed frame we were told that this bed couldn’t be delivered until 23/4. I was then asked to leave it with them and they would call me back - no call received. We feel we have had no alternative to just cancel as we have no faith that the next date they give us will be the last one provided. To add insult to injury we are now being advised that they won’t be processing a refund until they get around to picking up the loaned mattress. Who knows when that will be.

The overall experience from ordering to delivery has not been good our delivery dates were changed several times, we didn’t know until the beds were delivered that they weren’t being built as part of the delivery (no one told us this and it’s not clear on your website) under what to expect from delivery it lists what happens and being built is in there. When the one bed was put together it’s not a good fit with the mattress and there is a slight tearing on the material. I am disappointed having spent £1000 with you.

United Kingdom | 11 April 2025Ordered a recycled mattress In store to arrive on 10 April. 16.30 on 09 April, received a text at the same time as an email. Both giving totally different reasons to why the mattress wont be delivered and totally different new delivery times. So clearly untrue. Rang the shop who could / would not help. Rang Customer Services - turns out Bensons For Beds can take your money even though there might not be a recycled mattress for purchase! Dont get caught out like we did!!
