United Kingdom | 28 February 2025I know it sounds silly and minuscule, but I lost confidence in the company during their sales process because their staff don’t understand how to calculate VAT. I got a quote from them but they did not apply the blue light discount that they offer. They resent the quote with the blue light discount applied but the VAT amount did not change despite the totals being different. This raised an eyebrow with me and I queried why the VAT amount didn’t change if the total value had reduced. The salesperson said that this was because they had to apply VAT to the discount. At first, I thought this was probably an inexperienced person who doesn’t know how to calculate VAT, but when I spoke to her colleague, he also backed her statements. I then called HMRC and they sent me a message clarifying the rules and I was 100% correct. VAT is applied after all deductions have been made (I have been working out VAT for about 35 years, so no surprise there). I sent the rules to their sales team in a what’s app message, they didn’t respond for a few days and then called me to admit they were wrong and that they had resent me a quote with the correct VAT. When I checked the quote it was still wrong! On the plus side they were not rude, but even though the difference is only a few pounds, I can’t trust a company as being ‘professional’ if they don’t understand how to calculate something as simple as VAT. I urge all who have had any discount applied (like blue light) to check their invoices or quotes to ensure they are not being overcharged on VAT. Maybe something for HMRC to investigate?

United Kingdom | 21 February 2025- Good looking unit which neatly holds the charge wire when not in use. - Easy to install according to my electrician. - Very easy to set up using my iPhone. - Zero issues connecting to wi-fi. - App is intuitive and easy to use. - Settings allows you to alter the appearance and light levels on the charger unit. - Hypervolt customer care seems good. I was pleased to receive a call checking all was well with their product.....not a common experience these days. - Fair price. Not the cheapest but all things considered, I know I have had good value for money.

After a WiFi power interruption I couldn’t connect my phone to the charger although I could still charge my car OK. A quick WhatsApp message to customer scrs. Had it sorted in no time- simple fix. Good product/company.

Integrates with Octopus Intelligent so I can charge for lower costs and the Ultra Black looks amazing when you use the LED modes. Would 100% recommend if you are looking to get an EV charger.

Looking at the relative costs of a HyperVolt-led installation or an electricity-supplier-led one, I opted to go direct and cut out the middle man. That worked very smoothly with the contractor (NorVolt) doing a good and very efficient job. Only had it for two weeks so far, but all seems great.
