What's good about this company is that they mail you the phone to take with you on the trip so that you don't need to hassle with renting one at the airport. I had the phone about a month and about 3 weeks into the trip the phone stopped working and from then on would only work on a hit and miss basis. I also rented a wifi hot spot for the month. Sometimes it worked well and other times it was so slow it was unusable. However, I'd probably use this company again and give them another try.

My husband was not sure he needed a phone in Israel and it turned out to be an excellent choice. It worked well - took messages and service was good. It made me feel much better to be able to reach him (I was in US while he was in Israel).

M's Robins at Perns in Baltimore is the best person to deal with. She makes the transaction go as fast and seamless as possible. The equipment is first rate--no problems at all with calls.

We've used Amigo phones before, and were always happy with them. This time,we had one problem after another, which I detailed in a letter that I sent when I returned the phone. To briefly summarize: 1) We weren't given our phone numbers until the last minute, and i had to call to find out what my US number was, even though they insisted they had sent me an e-mail. (It was NOT in my Spam folder. 2) The instructions were not helpful, and I found it very complicated to set up my contact list. 3) I tried to set the phone's alarm clock, and it would not allow me to put in the time I wanted. Nor would it allow me to delete the time that I didn't intend to put in (3 AM). It did a great job of waking me at 3 AM when I thought I had turned off the alarm. 4) We kept getting wrong numbers and texts from numbers we didn't recognize. We couldn't open the texts, so we had no idea who was trying to contact us. 5) Also had trouble sending texts, and when I got a text from the airline to confirm my flight, it wouldn't allow me to respond with a 1 or a 0 as the airline requested. It just wasn't dependable. next time I will bring my own phone and pay whatever it costs to make overseas calls.

The unit is advertised as unlimited data when in fact after 4 GB I was slowed/throttled down to an unusable level. I was barely able to send an email retrieve anything or use a computer. So it's far from Unlimited. If your a heavy user, get a wifi hot spot. But be clear what you are getting

When I accidently ordered a phone for the wrong country they shipped me a new one in 1 day!!! No hassle/problem! They are very reliable

My contract was to include unlimited calling from Israel to Israel, Canada and the U.S. That worked well. Unlimited incoming calls; that worked Receive texts; did not work, either from Canada or from within Israel Send text to Canada; did not work. I was in touch with Naftali in NY, He was aware of the problem and I was told that it was being looked after. However, it still didn't work. The technician called me and we tried to get it working, but it never did. He told me that there must be a problem with my phone. However, a few days later, one of the tourists on my tour was having the same problem. She also could not send nor receive texts. She was from California, and she was using Amigo as well. They told her to take out the battery and then reinstall it and it should reset itself. They told her that I should do the same. We both could not receive nor send texts. I had the phone for 3 weeks and with the difference of the time (7 hours), I could not send nor receive texts from my children. That was an inconvenience as I was hoping to be in touch with them. I had to wait until late at night in order to call them on the phone.

Ordering an Amigo phone is as easy as promised and all went well until I tried to use it. Perhaps it's Argentina or perhaps it's the phone but only with two separate phones could I be sure of completing a phone call. I have known Amigo to be reliable in Israel and perhaps I got a bad phone but it was not a satisfactory experience.
