We rented a phone from Amigo to use during our 30 day trip to Israel and Jordan. We opted for just the basic phone service as we do not carry on long conversations with family and friends while we're traveling. We were extremely pleased with both the customer service of Amigo, and the performance of the phone. We intend to use Amigo again when we travel out of the States.

I switched from Israel Phones to Amigo because I expected to save money, and I did. I find Amigo easy to deal with. They do what they promise to do, and the phone service is very good.

I was really impressed with how accessible and nimble your customer service reps were. I had a last minute trip to Israel, and overnight had a SIM card waiting for me. Whoever helped me via chat and email for order 3028574, deserves an A++.

getting the phone was easy If you're not planning on using the phone a lot and just want it for emergencies, it's very cheap. If you're planning on talking lots, it might be more costly. They want the phone back immediately when you return (and are still tired from traveling), but it's no big deal.

I would recommend Amigo US to any of my friends who are traveling in israel and want to maintain contact with people at home in the US. I rented the basic phone with an Israeli number as well as a US cellphone number on it that was automatically forwarded to the Israeli phone. The phone arrived as ordered and was easy to use. My family could call it without incurring international charges and I could call them without any additional charges. There were only a few small areas in Israel where I did not have adequate signal to call. Texts to the US were only 19 cents each.

Delivery was smooth. Phone worked. Return was smooth. Easy, efficient, I recommend Amigo for international phone needs.

I rented a wifi hotspot for my recent trip to Canada. The hotspot arrived with plenty of time to turn it on and make sure it worked (it did). I got to Canada, and it worked (at first) but was extremely slow: it is supposed to get 3G or 4G, but it only ever got 'G' or 'E' (I assume GPRS/EDGE, which are both 2G). I have no idea if that is the only speed it can get (It was a tmobile device, and I heard that they only do 2G abroad) or if it was a device malfunction, because at lunch on the second day it died. Wouldn't turn on or even charge. I called customer support (thank goodness for 800 numbers being free at my hotel!) and they were super unbelievably nice and extremely apologetic. My trip was short so no time to send a replacement, but they refunded the full price. If someone assured me that the slow speed was just my broken device and not typical, I'd definitely try again my next trip.

Both renting and returning the phone was easy and efficient. But the phone service itself was "moody". Sometimes the service mwas great and sometimes terrible. E.g., the connection could be bad, we could get disconnected at random, or we couldn't get a connection at all. When this would happen, we would use our daughter's land line and the problem was gone. These problems were mainly while calling locally or internationally from Israel. Calling from Italy was fine.

I rented an Amigo phone as a way to stay in touch occasionally and be reached in emergncy during an 11-day trip to Greece. The phone was easy to use in terms of calling outside Greece and receiving calls. Most important, the reception was clearer than the cell phone I use at home. I thought the price for the use of the phone and per minute were reasonable for my purposes. The local distributor for Amigo was helpful and conveniently located,

I have used Amigo several times over the last years and had been satisfied. I had called to ask about the cost of sims card for my IPHONE to use in Israel. In our conversation I mentioned I was also going to China and Hong Kong. I was convinced by your rep to get a sims card for China. I did not have any intentions at the time to use a phone in China. But the pressure from your sales rep convinced me to get one. Also I found out in China and then Hong Kong, you need 2 different sims cards. It also would have been cheaper to get a card there. It did not always work well. I shared the card with my traveling friend and it just didn't work well. Since she was the one who made all phone calls the cost was high which she is responsible for. But that is not the point. We were both disappointed in the card not always working. And it was placed correctly, etc. I just found your rep was ratty pushy and even when I called to try to understand the latest statement, spread sheet I got 'attitude' from your reps. This was the first time I have dissatisfied with Amigo.
