The phone worked wonderfully and came in handy when my son lost his passport and money while on a trip to Israel. He didn't get any help from his tour guides and had to do everything himself. This phone is a must while traveling. Thank you Amigo!

Try a different option, because there equiptment is poor, and the connection was very unclear and difficult to understand what the other party was saying.

I received my phone in a timely fashion. Although the Blackberry was a bit dated and had been well used, it worked fine without difficulty. We visited Petra where there was no service. The company may wish to offer a feature to add Jordan.

First time we rented a cell phone from Amigo. It worked out very well as we did not have to deal with renting or purchasing something in Israel. The rates were overall good and our family in the USA was especially happy that we had a phone number in Israel in case we needed to be contacted. Everything was supplied, phone, SIM card, carrying case, charger, adapter, instructions and return package. We did not however need to make any outgoing calls as our hotel made all calls for us (taxi, tour guides, etc) so cannot give an opinion but Amigo does supply an instruction sheet on how to make calls while in Israel. Would definitely use Amigo's services again Thank you.

I received 2 sets of sim cards - for Italy/Israel - I had questions about starting to use and there were no instrucitons and no number accessible to call 24/7 - people need to be able to call from wherever they are - when I tried to call the 1-800 number - it took me to Israel's 012 network that said they cant help me - it was quite frustrating - a simple few guidelines with the sim card would have helped me to be able to use the features on my trip - its esp frustrating to be in a country you are not familiar with the language and to need help from people so I relied on customer service and was disappointed.

More than half of outgoing text messages, both to US and within Israel, never got delivered despite correct numbers. About half of incoming texts were incomprehensible gibberish, and directions provided no guidance for translation incase incoming was in Hebrew. Phone number listed for customer support went to the phone mail of some unrelated person. I specifically got this service because I was in a large group that needed to communicate by text on an Israeli line. Absolutely zero of those messages were ever delivered. Virtually useless service.

Seamless experience from start to finish. Not cheap, but worth it for the carefree experience all along the way.

I experienced a lot of aggravations in my last rental. After receiving the phone in the US, I tried just to turn it on but it would not come on. I was very concerned and called the Amigo office but the office was closed for the Jewish holiday, ending Saturday night. On Sunday, I tried again to contact the Amigo office from the airport close to noon time (CST) and there was still no answer; I sent an Email to the office and left the US to Israel thinking I had a broken phone. When I arrived to Israel, the phone still would not come on. I was about to rent another phone at the office; the service rep at the airport rental company provided an exemplary service and suggested she would try to charge my Amigo phone before I take another phone. Apparently the phone I rented from you was totally out of charge. Here is a summary of what I found inadequate about your service: 1) You gave me a phone that was totally out of charge and could not even be charged in the US, so I had no way to see that it comes on; 2) Your office was closed way past the time you said it would be closed; 3) you gave me a phone (BLU) for which there were no instructions on your website; 4) the blue instruction sheet that comes with your phone is totally inadequate; it does not say anything about the fact that the phone may have to be charged at the destination before it can be used (which is not proper service); furthermore, unlike the claim made by your office, the blue instruction sheet does not even say that the phone only works in Israel. You must revise this instruction sheet.

I have been using Amigo for the past nine years and have never had a problem! In fact, I enjoy picking up the phone from their Brooklyn location and schmoozing. The people there are knowledgeable and helpful. They offer a variety of plans and can actually explain them. And, most importantly. I have always been pleased when I receive the bill...it is accurate, itemized and I am always surprised at the low cost. I highly recommend them...Finally, a merchant you can trust!

While the initial rates seemed fantastic, the overall bill exceeded $40. Also, the phone itself is not intuitive and hard to use.

This worked out great for us. For $40 and some change we were able to rent 2 of the voice only phones for a week to take to Israel. There were 2 couples, so this gave us the ability to go our separate ways and talk to each other to make sure we met up at the right time and place. We also needed to confirm some information with guides that we had hired. It also gave the security and confidence with family back home (and work) that we could be reached in an emergency. The phones arrived at my house several days before we left and included a box and label to return them in. The phones also each had a charger and the appropriate power adapter for Israel.

Upon returning home from our trip, I received an invoice with charges that were much higher than expected. I reviewed the information I had received when requesting the phone - it was very unclear that there were additional charges for extra days of rental (and how much those charges were), and that an 18% VAT tax was charged as well. I was also not aware that there was a shipping charge both ways. I know there are other companies out there to choose from - I might try them next time.

The only problem we incurred using your equipement was text messaging in the host nation, Isreal, contained only square box symbols and no actual alpha text other than numbers. So, text receipts were not able to be read.

I ordered phone a week before my trip to Israel. The phone arrived within 4 days. I was also given an Israel phone number which I was able to give to may contacts before arriving at destination. The phone worked as advertised, however I would not rent the Blackberry again. Keyboard too small for my fingers

I rented 1 phone with 2 Sim cards, for use both in Israel and Italy. The phone worked as advertised, I had no issues in either country, and the switch over from Israel to Italy went smoothly once I followed the enclosed written instructions

Everything worked just as it should, the customer service dept was helpful when I called to see how quickly I could receive the phone, and I have no complaints, just a satisfied customer.
