United Kingdom | 14 July 2024I thought 1980’s style, unethical “double glazing” type sales was dead (and so it should be) but, alas, it is alive and well in the Karma group. It seems I’m not alone in what I write below. What you read in my review, you will read many times from other reviewers. Today we were accosted as we walked the streets of Hoi An by a Finnish lady (shame on you if you are reading this) . We were given scratch cards. We all won a baseball cap and my wife a prize of an iPhone, 6,000,000 VND or a free 7 night Karma Holiday (I’ll let you guess which of the prizes we actually won!) The catch - we had to go to an office for (and I quote) ”just 60 minutes” (I should have gone with my initial gut feel of “run - this is a time share type scam” Well, the 60 minutes turned into almost 3 hours. Our salesman said “they should not have said 60 mins - no way does this take 60 mins” - funny how many similar reviews also state a 60 minute meeting is what was offered to be duped into 2 and 3 hours. Our double glazing sales man, Chris - sold at us for at least 2 hours. Asking us the same questions over and over again. He was joined on several occasions by his passive aggressive boss, Jason. They were selling us a lifestyle of glamorous holiday locations for an upfront membership fee and then only circa $400 per week for each subsequent holiday. The problem is that they were far from upfront on the price of the membership fee, despite me asking at least a dozen times. As an aside, The location they took us to, to show off what they were selling was far from glamorous - 3 star at best. As stated above, I asked repeatedly what the “membership fee” was. My question was repeatedly ignored….for almost 3 hours. I was getting increasingly frustrated but Chris just ploughed on seemingly not caring that he was interrupting my family vacation. I regret not just walking out. After 3 hours of very amateur and obvious poor sales technique (I’ve worked in sales myself for many years so can spot a crap and obvious hard sell when I see one), passive aggressive Jason came to tell us the membership fee. Essentially the fee was discounted to an upfront £26k. At that point I was very clear “no way will I part with £26k until I’ve done some serious due diligence on a company I’ve never heard of”. It was at this point that Mr Passive Aggressive become more overtly aggressive. Basically I needed to take the deal right now (or part with at least a £2k deposit) or loose it. Who, in their right mind parts with £26k on a whim without having time to consider - hence my assertion that this is akin to the worst double glazing sales. I’m disgusted that this type of underhand activity still takes place. Seriously, who falls for this? 85,000 members apparently?? Thanks Jason, my eldest daughter left in tears, so much did you impact her trust of human nature. You also took away 3 hours of our precious family holiday.

India | 05 July 2024IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE OF HAVING OUR FIRST INTERNATIONAL TRIP (WITH FAMILY) TO PHUKET AND OUR STAY MADE MEMORABLE AT NH BOAT LAGOON (KARMA ROYAL BOAT LAGOON). THIS IS BEAUTIFUL RESORT WITH A BIG SWIMMING POOL AND LUSH GREEN GARDEN AND ALSO HAD A TRAMPOLINE FOR KIDS. KIDS ENJOYED A LOT AT BEAUTIFUL SWIMMING POOL WITH PICTURESQUE AND STAFF OF RESORT WAS VERY HELPFUL AND SUPPORTIVE. WE THANK TO OUR COORDINATOR MS. NIDHI GAMBHIR WHO HELPED US AND GUIDE US IN PLANNING OUR TOUR. THE SERVICES OF LOCAL SIGHTSEEING (TEMPO TRAVELLER FACILITY) WAS AVAILABLE AT RESORT AT A REASONABLE PRICE AND OUR ISLAND TOUR WAS ALSO SCHEDULED THRU RESORT AT REASONABLE PRICES WITH FACILITY OF BREAKFAST AND LUNCH DURING SUCH ISLAND TOUR. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT THIS PROPERTY IS FAR FROM CITY BUT IT IS QUITE AND BEAUTIFUL AND IT TAKES ALMOST 30-40 MINS TO REACH PATONG MARKET WHERE YOU CAN FIND NUMBER OF INDIAN RESTAURANTS. THE PROBLEM OF GETTING VEGETARIAN FOOD IS OBVIOUS IN THAILAND AND IT'S A BIT EXPENSIVE. HOWEVER, THE BREAKFAST AT THE RESORT WAS GOOD. OVERALL OUR STAY AT KARMA ROYAL BOAT LAGOON WAS FABULOUS 😍 AND WE ENJOYED A LOT AT OUR TRIP. ALL BASIC FACILITIES VIZ. ELECTRIC KETTLE, WATER BOTTLES (SIX BOTTLE PER DAY) AND MICROWAVE WAS THERE IN OUR ROOM. HAIR DRYER, PRESS, SAFE AND AN UMBRELLA WAS ALSO KEPT IN THE ROOM SO THAT IN CASE OF ANY REQUIREMENT THE SAME CAN BE UTILIZED. THANK YOU KARMA FOR MAKING OUR STAY MEMORABLE AT NH BOAT LAGOON PHUKET. THIS WILL BE A MEMORIES FOR A LIFETIME 💕 ❤️ 🤩. THANKS.

India | 04 July 2024We had an excellent stay at the resort. It is quiet place by the lagoon with beautiful scenic background. The resort is located inside NH Boat Lagoon with good swimming pool, villa market and number of restaurant options. Only thing which needs improvement is the indian food at NH Boat Lagoon Hotel restaurant. Our coordinator Pooja Sogalad was very helpful and planned our whole vacation meticulously. Sincere appreciation for her support. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Phuket with long lasting memories.

United Arab Emirates | 04 July 2024We’ve just spent a wonderful weekend at a curated event at Karma Borgo Colleoli organised by the local management team. The food, wine and hospitality were of the highest standard and the itinerary included watching the start of the Tour de France in Florence; a visit to a Chianti vineyard and an e-biking tour of some Tuscany villages. Fabulous fun, great company, highly recommended. Liz/Mark

United Kingdom | 24 June 2024Don't be fooled by this company. They use the same tactics that were used 30+ years ago to pressure sell time-share holidays. You will be approached in Hoi An by a man and a woman on a scooter, who will offer you instant-win cards. One of you will win a hat, or similar, and the other (shock, horror) will win one of their three top prizes (an iPhone 15, a week's free holiday at one of their resorts, or 6 million dong...I'll let you guess what you will 'win'). All you have to do is jump in a taxi with them to their sales office for a '60 minute' presentation, after which, only then you will be allowed to scratch off the card to reveal your 'fabulous' prize. Our '60 minute' session turned into a three hour marathon, followed by a 30 minute, full-on pressure sale to get us to sign on the dotted line there and then, to qualify for large one-off discounts. To be fair, the man who we spent most of our first 180 minutes with, was a guy called Chris, who wasn't too pushy, but managed to obtain a pretty accurate 'profile' of us through a large number of highly targeted questions. However, we spent the final 30 minutes with the deal-closer, a guy called Jeff, who was particularly condescending, patronising, dismissive and passive-aggresive, who used bordering on bullying tactics to get our signature. My partner and I told him and Chris at the very outset, that this felt like timeshare tactics and that we had no intention of signing anything there and then. However, Jeff felt otherwise, and kept pushing more and more discounts and free stuff at us, telling us that there was no need to go away and think about the offer as it was a no-brainer. Our initial £30,000+ investment was eventually whittled down to around £8,000 up front with a service fee of about £500 p.a. When we told Jeff that we still needed to think about the offer, and come back to them later, he became nothing short of petulant, and stormed off. How ridiculous! So we were expected to part with £8,000 effectively there and then, with absolutely no due diligence and just rely on their word that this was a good deal? It turns out, reviewing other people's experiences on both TrustPilot and TripAdvisor, that further due diligence was absolutely essential. My only advice is to avoid this company at all costs.

Mexico | 24 June 2024We stayed at karma la herriza for 4 nights and we can’t wait to come back. We planned to extend our stay as we enjoyed it so much but unfortunately my work couldn’t accommodate. The staff were fantastic, in particular Diego, Samuel and Luis. So friendly and helpful. The pool was absolutely stunning, the grounds were beautiful. But stand out was the food!!! The best hotel food I have ever had. By far. Not a single bad or average meal. Themed nights every day of the week. Entertainment. Happy hour. The grounds both indoor and outdoors are immaculate. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. One thing we would do differently next time and I would recommend to others staying for the first time is planning an itinerary beforehand if you want to leave the hotel. Gaucin is the nearest town 15 min drive but about a 2 hour walk through the mountains. It’s €50 there and back in a taxi. Which is fine but we tried to arrange taxi a few hours before our reservation and found that the taxi driver karma use wasn’t working that day. And the restaurants in gaucin their opening times and days are small and not every day. So keep that in mind. It has a very luxurious and exclusive feel to it. Our apartment/villa was beautiful! The bed and sofa was so comfortable, smart tv and the WiFi is very strong in all areas. If you are thinking of booking this hotel, stop thinking about it and just book it. You won’t regret it!!

United Kingdom | 24 June 2024P A T H E T I C after sale service! Even after paying the 4th instalment my membership isn't activated. Member Relations Execs are well trained to pass on inaccurate and misleading information. There would be radio silence when you chase them for updates post the due dates. Absolutely lacklustre display of accountability and responsibility. Would L O V E to sign out of the agreement but signed on a dotted line which wouldn't allow us to do so....

Indonesia | 12 June 2024I recently had the pleasure of stay for a night at Karma Kandara Bali, and it was an unforgettable experience ! From the moment I checked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made me feel right at home and even offered a welcoming drink that was so refreshing and delicious, I still can't get over it! I stayed in a one-bedroom villa, which was perfect for two people. The pool was just the right size, and the ambiance was wonderfully comfortable. The cleanliness of the villa was outstanding, and the bathroom was lovely as well. Although I didn't have hot water for my morning shower, I appreciated that Karma Kandara is committed to environmental sustainability by not using plastic packaging for their toiletries. The room itself was spacious, with a cozy living room and complete facilities. Every corner of the villa was designed for comfort, and I loved how roomy it felt. Getting around the resort was a breeze, thanks to the efficient buggy service that was always on time to standby!!! It made exploring the beautiful grounds effortless. Dining at Di Mare was a highlight of my stay. The cuisine was excellent, and the beach view added a touch of luxury to every meal. Another unforgettable moment was the jazz night at the Temple Lounge. Watching the sunset while sipping on a cocktail (I think it was called the Temple Lady) felt absolutely magical. One of the standout experiences was the Cliff Ocean Spa. The open-air massage was truly indulgent, and I highly recommend it to everyone visiting Karma Kandara. It's a must-try experience that takes relaxation to another level. Oh iya!! I also loved the breakfast at the Temple Lounge. It wasn't just about the tasty and healthy food, it was also about the awesome vibe. Local musicians played soothing Gamelan music, giving me a true taste of Bali's culture while I enjoyed my meal. It was a fantastic way to start a day at Karma Kandara Bali! Overall, my stay at Karma Kandara Bali was filled with delightful experiences and exceptional service. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable getaway in Bali. Thank you to all staffs and also Mr. Shaun, Pak Dirta, Pak Totok, Angelika, and Christina !!! Lovely to meet your acquaintance <33

Indonesia | 04 June 2024We sat through a 3 hour presentation promised to be 1 hour. They wanted to sell us 4 and 5 star holiday (accomodation only) for $32,000 aud. We declined, When we got home to redeem our holiday give away - a quick google search of the hotels brought up anything but 4 or 5 Star accomodation. Feel grateful for not signing a contract based on lies and false illusion to anything that they promise. There are other amazing travel companies and groups who deliver exactly as promised. Eg- luxury escapes.

Australia | 26 May 2024We met Marcel and his side kick Kelly on the streets of Hoi An. To Marcel's credit he gave us the heads up that for an hour of our time would be taken to an conditioned office provided with cold drinks and a restaurant voucher. It was a very hot day and we needed a break from the heat. We were taken to the office and handed over to Justin. Justin too was open about the ruse we found ourselves in. Justin was more interested on how he could relocate to Australia. After having wasted more than the hour we were told it would take. I told Justin let's cut to the chase. How much was this going to cost us. Justin told us only his manager could talk price with us. So I said get the manager. Over comes Jeff who proceeded to comment on my body language. Jeff then said he could give me a price as we had not been assessed. I told Jeff it is not about you assessing us. Just give me a price or we would be walking out. As he room was full of other punters they were trying to fleece Jeff told us to go. So we left. The prize of the hat was put to good use on an emergency toilet stop where there was no paper. The weeks accomodation won is impossible to redeem. The restaurant voucher was given to some locals. Total con job. Luckily only cost us our time. thank you Marcel and Justin for the heads up. John Spence they should have put you and Jeff on the first fleet to Australia.

Italy | 22 May 2024This company is not a scam, the owner won philanthropist of the year globally on many occasions due to his work with children in Bali and India. This company couldn't be more genuine. We have just signed up for a three year membership which works out to be $142 AUD per night for wonderful hotels in beautiful destinations for completely relaxing retreats. I would be spending that much anyway for less quality accommodation and I am very happy to support a company that does so much for disadvantaged communities. All the staff are required to teach disadvantaged children english for 2 hours on their weekend. We have just spent a glorious week in a Tuscan Palazzo in the middle of Tuscany. It's also working out cheaper than our level 3 genius on Booking.com
