Would recommend to others! We purchased the Origins Pocket 1500, we were initially going to buy an IKEA bed but decided to spend a bit extra in favour of better quality. Mattress is incredible and one of the comfiest I've slept on! Also, really like their customer service and their returns policy.

So far so good, our new mattress is superbly comfortable. The lead up to our purchase was excellent, with extensive information on the website followed by very quick clarification by email, of some questions we had, by friendly staff. Delivery was as promised (the delivery guys could have been a bit more user-friendly) but communications were very good and helpful. We are delighted with our purchase

I bought the Origins Pocket Mattress as replacement for a JL one. Wow - what a difference, really supportive and comfortable (medium) it looks and feels really luxurious. Ordering process was straightforward and I received a phone call just to talk through my order to make sure everything was OK (when does that ever happen!!). Everything went smoothly from ordering to delivery. So pleased I am now ordering another mattress from them.

Then we found out about John Ryan. A pleasure to deal with from start to finish and the mattress is great! I need to get another next year and am now tempted to replace mine. I bought an Artisan Bespoke mattress and it was ok for two years. Then one day I noticed moth larvae are crawling out of it. I've spent months trying to get rid of them but since they are in the mattress the only solution is to freeze it or dispose of it. I chose the latter but not before cutting it open to prove that dried larvae are in the middle of the mattress under the wool. They can live up to 30 months before becoming moths. I contacted John Ryan but they said my house is infested. My wool socks and suits are still intact. Forget about customer service or the ten year warranty. I hope I can attach all photos and then you can decide for yourself if you want such a mattress in your house. Reply to Ryan: When you pay £1480 for a mattress you expect customer service, not empathy or offensive emails. A respectable company would look if other mattresses from the same batch have similar problems and also arrange for an onsite inspection. I made it clear that I am willing to sacrifice the mattress to help find the root cause. Unfortunately it's not possible to attach photos to the review or include a link to a gallery so that readers can have an unbiased opinion. Before I disposed of the mattress I made a cut in the middle of it. I removed the first layer of wool and found dried dried larvae underneath. How did they end up there when the exterior cover or the wool underneath is not damaged? Have you heard of moths laying eggs on garments that are used on a daily basis?

Spent nearly a month trawling through different matress supplies and kept coming back to this company. Really liked the massive honest information page they have on there website. I could only afford there cheapest mattress unfortunately and waited a bit longer too order to save up a bit more to get this one. Just being honest.! From start to finish brilliant service, easy to order over the phone. I suffer with severe insomnia, lady sent me extra tips for trying to sleep to my email. Great communication from delivery poeple soon as matress was ready for delivery. Rang me to arrange delivery. Then texted on the day with a shorter delivery slot. Friendly and following covid hygiene. The matress is fab so far. Feel like I'm sleeping in a fancy hotel bed. Yes even managed a few hours sleep. Much better than getting from a big corporate company. Much more personal service. Definitely recommended

Amazing mattress super thick bouncy it took me about a week to finally settle & feel comfortable, best thing is I am sleeping right through the night now as previous on my Simba I was waking 2-3 times a night & lying straight again which is doing wonders for my lower back. I would definitely recommend. Also great customer service thankyou again for a great experience and wake less nights sleep.

Having done a lot of research for an ethical, chemical, animal free mattress we ordered the Artisan Latex super king mattress. Investing in such a mattress for quality of sleep, comfort and quality was a big step for us to order on line without being able to see and feel. Received great customer service when I called for advice and to find out more. The mattress arrived before the estimated time and well packaged. When peeling back the packaging - wow beautifully well made, and absolutely no nasty or chemical smells whatsoever. Does it have a smell? I would describe it as a very faint oat smell - that would be the material. Slept so well the first night, and we both continue to do so. So happy we ordered this mattress, it's so comfortable. I had a memory foam one beforehand but made me too hot (my age!) ... not with the Artisan. Would highly recommend - great quality, professional and great customer service. Thank you!

John Ryan by Design Company was first introduced to us by a good friend and his wife who had bought a new mattress from them in early 2012. They said that the helpful advice on choosing the right mattress was excellent and as a result they were enjoying many good comfortable night’s sleeps on it. This was good feedback for us as we had just moved back to the UK from abroad and needed to buy a new mattress as it had been damaged in transit. We contacted John Ryan’s company, and spoke to John himself, and after some very helpful discussions and his expert advice as to which mattress would best suit our sleeping pattern and body weights, we placed an order for a Super King Zip and Link Origins Pocket Latex 2000 firm mattress. It was delivered in the autumn of 2012 by their delivery agency and carried upstairs to our bedroom. In 2015 and as a previously satisfied customer, we again contacted John Ryan’s company and after a discussion with John we purchased a new bed base and mattress for our spare bedroom. Some three weeks later it was delivered and the two men from their delivery agency carefully carried it upstairs and installed it in the bedroom. But now our first John Ryan mattress, which has provided us with over 3,000 nights of good restful and comfortable sleep, is getting a little tired on my side (I’m 6’2” tall and weigh nearly 19 stone) and as we all know nothing lasts forever so we have decided to replace it. There was never any doubt where it was coming from. We contacted the John Ryan company sales team and are placing an order with them for a new mattress of the same size, quality and technical specification as our old one, and are very much looking forward to its speedy arrival in our bedroom. As a matter of interest our two grown up sons have, during the last couple of years, also bought new beds and mattresses from John Ryan company as they were impressed by our excellent feedback regarding our purchases and their “road testing” of the bed in the spare bedroom on several different occasions. Both said that they too are very satisfied with their purchases, excellent quality, amazingly comfortable and bought at the right price. So, as a long-time very satisfied customer of the John Ryan company, my wife and I say many thanks to them and their team for providing us with such restful sleeping over the years; and if any of you are thinking of buying a new bed or mattress then John Ryan by Design should be the first and in our opinion the only company on your list.
