United Kingdom | 17 December 2018Just back from a tour of Kerala, from Cochin to Poovar, with stops in between in Munnar, Thekkady and Aleppy. Overall a great experience, but with a lot of transfer by car. This however was made very enjoyable in the company of Laiju George, who steered us safely while keeping us informed about what was all around us and the recent history of the area. He looked after us really well and became almost a friend in the few days we were with him. Loved Kerala, its landscape and friendly people. Our first taste of India and, I hope, not our last. And I almost forgot the food, which was kept a bit less spicy for us I suspect, but was delicious.

India | 13 December 2018At Poovar relaxing, at the end of a wonderful holiday touring Southern India. Enjoyed the variety of places visited. Two of the hotels had renovation work ongoing which we could have done without. We had an excellent driver/guide in Anthony who was knowledgable, considerate and a very good driver. The two local guides were also very good. Thanks Citrus.

United Kingdom | 11 December 2018I took the ten night tour of Kerala and extended my stay by 3 nights in Mumbai on my return in late November. This was not my first trip to India but want a contrast to the other places i have visited. It was a wonderful holiday and one that i will not forget. It was a busy tour, with lots of traveling and so many wonder sights and sounds...from the wonderful town of Cochin with all its amazing history, then up to the hills to Munnar, across to Thekaddy, down to Aleppy and finally to Poovar. It was a small group and our driver Sree was wonderful and so helpful. I had some teeth problems while on the tour and in Thekaddy he took time out and took me to the local dentist and completed all the forms and came in with me to make sure everything was understood. Considering the conditions of some of the roads his driving was excellent and was always on time and cheerful. The whole itinerary was very well thought out and i would not have missed any of it, The cookery lesson in Cochin was brilliant and i learnt so much about the spices and how to use them.. On the trip from Munnar to Thekaddy our driver Sree had been informed that elephants had been spotted. He suggested that we hurry lunch up so we would get a chance to see them. It was a truly wonderful sight and just highlighted how Scree wanted all of us to have a wonderful experience. The night on the houseboat was totally wonderful the staff and the food was just excellent and the ensuite bedroom was lovely. Generally the hotels were of good standard expect the Grand plaza in Munnar. The staff were good but the food and rooms were not of the standard i would have liked, also i found the room in Poovar to be very dark as the window was small, if i had being staying any longer than the 3 nights then i would have wanted to change the room. The free massage in Poovar was very different!! This was a great value holiday and i had a wonderful time and would recommend everyone to go to Kerala and see the different contrast to northern India. I am looking forward to my next trip back to India , it is a country that has so much to offer. Thanks to all the staff in planing my trip and selcting the most direct flights with only a small layover. Scree the driver and all the local guides.

India | 11 December 2018We arrived around 5am and were greeted by our super friendly, pacient, knowledgable driver and taken to our minibus - which was very clean and spacious for the 5 of us. Can’t say how great our driver was - so helpful. The accommodation and level of service throughout was second to none - really excellent. We’ve seen so much in a relatively short space of time... the scenery! Breathtaking. Wildlife. Food. People. Culture. All fantastic. It really has been the trip of a lifetime. Would highly recommend.

United Kingdom | 11 December 2018My niece and I took the ten night tour of Kerala in late November and had the time of our lives! It was a busy tour, with lots of travelling and so many wondrous sights and sounds...from the wonderful town of Cochin with all its amazing history, then up to the hills to Munnar, across to Thekaddy, down to Aleppy and finally to Poovar. We didnt want to come home..and much of that was due to our driver, Titus, who gave so much of himself to ensure that we made the most of our time in India. Honest and trustworthy with a great sense of humour, this man was a true ambassador for both Citrus and India..nothing was too much trouble and we were honoured to have his company for most of our trip. For that we are deeply grateful. The whole itinerary was very well thought out and we would not have missed any of it, Highlights were the cookery lesson in Cochin...not only did we learn how to cook four dishes, but we learnt so much more about spices and their uses. Another highlight was spotting wild elephants at very close range! That was a total surprise and again we have to thank our driver for spotting them and allowing us to stop and watch for as long as we liked. It was a very emotional moment for us. The nit on the houseboat was totally amazing,,,very relaxing and fascinating, and we were very well looked after. I personally really enjoyed the fried bananas in the afternoon, so tasty and very welcome. The hotels, with the exception of one, were chosen with great cAre and the choice of food at breakfast and dinner was exceptional and catered for all tastes. Our driver also introduced us to fresh sugar cane juice at the side of the road and found us several good local restaurants for us to try traditional Keralan food at lunchtime. We would recommend that you try the Keralan breakfast for the experience! We also recommend taking the early morning complimentary boat over to the sand bar to watch the fishermen haul in their catch when you are in Poovar. Our senses were overloaded on this trip..and we learnt so much about the country and its flora and fauna from our driver. We can thoroughly recommend this trip and ask you to embrace everything whole heartedly.
